That's interesting because if Qtard is really an Australian, then following high school people attend university. Some university's are called technical institutes but I cannot think of any that are called college's. This all makes me wonder whether Qtard is really an Aussie or is he another account of someone else on here from the USA who is not very bright. When I was young it was that a Collège was an institution of higher learning that grants the bachelor's degree in liberal arts or science or both. And a university was a collections of colleges. But in these times those definition have somewhat changed. an institution of higher learning providing facilities for teaching and research and authorized to grant academic degrees. specifically : one made up of an undergraduate division which confers bachelor's degrees and a graduate division which comprises a graduate school and professional schools each of which may confer master's degrees and doctorates I once filed a record of a state senate meeting on the financing of the new Nevada State College. The professor answering questions was asked to explain the difference between a college and a university. She explained that at a university, professors are expected to be doing research and/or producing literature (and whatever). Colleges are basically teaching institutions and professors normally have a fuller teaching schedule than at a research university. |

How is this anyone’s business? Well I tend to be suspicious when people are inauthentic or when things don’t add up. I suspect this has something to do with being brought up in the “truth”. There was a lot of subterfuge. I had to put a lot of things together for myself. Often things didn’t add up. This suspicion has followed me throughout life. I tend not to trust what people tell me. Perhaps we have this in common. I see you believe in a lot of conspiracy theories. I do not share your conspiracy theories but I do make up a lot of stories to try to understand what’s going on - rightly or wrongly - and so ask a lot of questions. All I ask is authenticity. Thanks Verna, It was a very long time ago I dont recall the exact year but I know it was my early teens as I was in college or high school -secondary school whatever you prefer, back then we had Form 1,2,3 etc not sure when Australia switched to grade's but long before NZ did. I now Domicile in Australia. |

Q are these “colleges” you attend after graduating from “school” (i.e. after grade 12 here) like university or, as someone suggested, part of basic schooling applicable for 13-17 years olds? Trying to get a sense of what age you were when you left the “truth”. College implies older to me (over 18) but maybe not where you come from. Some of the names suggest it is for younger people (i.e. college for girls). A lot of places to be kicked out of prematurely. |

Not sure if this is now the case in the USA, but if a school offered a two year degree (associates degree) and a four year degree max it was called a college. If it offered post graduate degrees Masters or Doctorate it was called a University. I got my 4 year bachelor degree at a college then afterwards went to a University for postgraduate. My 4 year college was renamed as a university when they added MS & PHD programs about 30 years after I was their. BS - Bull Sh!t MS - More of the Same PHD - Piled Higher & Deeper
