Do the F&W talk about fathers in there meetings today?
This is the one day I would like to stay home from church. My father has been gone now for 16 yrs and everytime fathers day rolls around I dislike it because the whole service is about fathers and I end up crying.
I understand we should honor them but it is just a personal dislike I have
Does anyone else feel this way?

The preachers sermon. I have wonderful memories of my dad. It just makes me sad because I miss him so much

I can relate to your feelings, ILgirl. I remember the first time my grandmother's birthday came around and she wasn't here. It hurt and I cried. I honor her on her birthday, still.
I am believer in tears, though. They heal your soul and sometimes take off some of the dirt to renew memories you haven't pulled out recently. With your church family, this should be an appropriate place to shed a few tears.
I'm sorry for your loss. Hugs! Happy
