For just as the title alludes to----the hymn speaks of "grace" and that is not what the workers teach.

Im professing by the way... but will answer 253, I'm satisfied in Jesus now, My restless soul is calm and still; My weary heart has found its home, My joy it is to do His will. Then sing, my soul, in sweetest song, My capitive spirit now is free; At His behest I follow on - His, only His, henceforth to be.

255 - Master, Speak! Thy servant heareth.
29 -'Tis better than thousands of silver and gold...
47 - Is there anyone can help us....Yes, there's One, only One..
58 - Have thine own way, Lord
There are many more, but these are the ones that came to mind right off.
Blessings, Linda

Most of them are written by people the workers would not considered saved. Ousiders, worldly people.

29 - Tis better than thousands. My whole family used to sing this together whenever people came over. It was a requirement. But one I never minded. We learned early on four-part harmony - and it was something to be in the middle of. I have great memories of my family singing together. I think it's the only time we got along!
I have learned to love the Aleluiah chorus and Holy, Holy Holy is the Lord Almighty - I love hearing the many voices . . . The Bible says that God's voice is like the sound of rushing waters but thunders, breaking the cedars of Lebanon, the sound of many voices. For this, I believe, a choir of many voices must be something like what God's voice will sound like (or the closest human description of it) when I hear him sing over me when I get to heaven (Zeph 3:17)!

Why is it considered wrong to have instruments in meetings like some of the other churches.
I see that the it is ok from the following.
Psalm 98:5-7 (King James Version) King James Version (KJV) Public Domain
5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.
Psalm 33:2-4 (King James Version) King James Version (KJV) Public Domain
2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Ah, LAS. I'm sorry you feel this way. I know where you are, though. The thing is, HYMNs above is right. The people who wrote them were godly people who believed in Christ and followed him. I wouldn't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. But I think I understand what you are saying.
I am not holding on to the past of JESUS ISN'T GOD and DO WELL BECAUSE YOUR WORKS WILL SAVE YOU. I was always elect and in my heart, I knew the voice of God in those hymns. So, it's OK for me. Christ is in them.
Peace, brother
