Who is to judge what is modest?
Is a skirt or a dress more or less modest than slacks or pants or jeans? What about "shorts" or coullots?
How long of a skirt or dress is modest?
How tight or loose fitting is modest?
Are there modest colors?
Are sleeveless or short sleeved blouses modest?
Are nylons modest?
Are high heels modest?
What else about clothing might be modest?
Hopefully no one will resort to "if you have to ask, you aren't right" or anything along that line.

the Holy Spirit judges what is modest. if a person has the Holy Spirit, then the Holy Spirit will move in a person to what is right/Gods will. this is not about mans will/judgement, it is about what God wants.

Thus the teaching should be "Be modest as the Holy Spirit guides you"? And there should be no intervention by anyone else?

Modesty: not drawing attention to yourself. My loose definition.
I believe it varies from person to person.

Hi,
Modesty to my way of thinking is the midway point between two extreems. Take the two extreems of dress, the ultra conservative neckline to ankle coverup and the mini skirt and G string, bare midrif, pleeenty of cleavage then come up with something in between and I think you can't go far wrong. Not that I have anything against either extreem.
mod·es·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key (md-st) n. The state or quality of being modest. Reserve or propriety in speech, dress, or behavior. Lack of pretentiousness; simplicity.
Modesty in dress and behaviour is a dynamic thing that changes as does societies acceptance to what is is appropriate.
