I was curious to know if anyone reads the posts of people who take an extremely long time explaining everything ?
Do yall just skip over those posters views because of the longness and it being too much to absorb.
I have found when someone is too long I just skip onto the next one.

Do yall just skip over those posters views because of the longness and it being too much to absorb. I have found when someone is too long I just skip onto the next one. Whether I read a long post depends on three things. One is the poster. Is the poster a regular here with a registered or frequently used unregistered name? Have I appreciated their posts in the past? Another is the topic. Is this something about which I wish to learn? Or is this garbage recycled? Or is this someone's else's thoughts regurgitated by another? Another is how much time do I have and how much do I want to invest in this topic? I'm sitting here now wondering how can I make this a long post. Maybe some already think it is too long. Are there flowery words I could use to appear quite the word artist? Would this make my post more acceptable to some? Should I write something to pre-empt some questions or dismiss some comments in advance? Should I use Bible quotes to help justify my position? If I quote an outside sourse will that help get my point across? Or will that help some dismiss the post? How many words comprise a long post? Maybe a long post is that which extends beyond viewing in one window without scrolling. Yet if the poster uses line spaces frequently maybe a long post is two or three windows of text. And what about quoting a post to which I am replying? Do I need to "quote post" the whole thing? Do people read those post quotes anyway? Often I take part of a post and quote that and reply to that. Have people read the quote I posted? I think maybe so. Yet if the quote post is a complete quote, then maybe the quote post is read as well. Okay. I'll stop now. Did you read all of this? Did you learn anything? Was your time well invested? Or did you skip this because I wrote this? Maybe you just skipped down to the bottom to see if there is a summation of sorts. Thank you for your time and attnetion.

It depends, like Greg Lee unplugged said on lots of different things. If it's interesting to me or if it's anwering questions that I may have, I will most likely read it. If it seems that I get the jist of it I will read the first paragraph, skim through the body and read the last paragraph. Trying to read every word of every post can get extremely time consuming.

Hi IllinoiseGal,
As you know, I'm one of those long posters. The reason for them: and the reason I'm at this site: is because I'm trying to sort out what I think, and what I believe: or how I feel: and why.
My mind and my fingers just work together: to produce what they produce.
With regards to other posters (and long posts), if I'm interested in the subject, I'll read this through--because I'm not just interested in what they think, but--how did they arrive at their conclusions: and were their thoughts logical? or sound, in scripture.
No one has to read anyone's post. But yet--for every post on here, there is probably a reader--a "somebody" who is working something out: and to whom that post will mean something.

Unless they are set out in chunks that are easy to read.
