Some head workers spend weeks and months away from their field each year on "visits!" Given the shortage of brother workers and the age of the friends, younger brother workers are having to cover more territory. Could this stress lead to nerve problems and exits from the work? When overseer is gone for a long time, other workers have to cover the territory. There is a one field in Ohio that covers 10,000 square miles.

This is an area of 100 miles X 100 miles. If it was broken down into 16 25 mile X 25 miles sections no people attanding would have to drive more than 18 miles! The workers could spend 3 weeks in each section an still have 4 weeks off. What a deal.

"Given the shortage of brother workers and the age of the friends"
What do you mean by this - I don't understand.
What country are you in where there's a shortage?
Are the friends too young?

josie,
The poster just thinks up crazy topics to post so they can stir the pot. Just ignore these meaningless threads by people with too much time on their hands.

I meant to discuss the funeral thing when you have so many old people dying and not enough brother workers to go around. Never mind that sister workers used to preach funerals.
Who is boss when overseer is gone on convention rounds?

oops in reply 4 -- Usually the worker who is listed just below the head worker would take over. Unless something has changed, that is the method and if an overseer has 2 states, the 2nd listed is over the state the overseer is not in. Clear as mud eh!
