Brian Martin's Brian Martin's Observations ? Funeral Director, xxxxxxxx funeral
Brian Martin:
This concludes this portion of the service today for xxxxx xxxxxx. As chapel director here, I get the odd perk to come up at the end of the service to give a simple talk; normally it's just a few words .......
From time to time, if I'm clever enough, I insert an observation. I won't even try to be clever today, because I have felt the Spirit here today. This is a wonderful people that you have here. It is a wonderful congregation. I hope you understand that. I think you do. You not only influence each other when you come together for Bible talks, etc., but you influence others. You've influenced me.
I look at a group of people, modest in dress, respectful; young people, teenagers, well?spoken, well?dressed and kind. We see a lot of people coming and going to funeral services from varying sides of tracks and varying sides of society. I cannot think of a time when I've seen such a congregation that is so completely unified in who they are and seem to know who they are and who they represent. I appreciate that.
Its been a pleasure to serve you folks here today. And to get to know xxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxx and others.
I think so often we go day?to?day, not realizing the impact we have on others. I want you folks to know you've had quite an impact on me, and I thank you for that.

The group of people appear to be unified because they know each other and dress similar. In most funerals people come from all walks of life. In professing funerals most of the people come from the same group.

He (funeral director/associate ?)mentions the young folks & teenagers, alluding to their respectfulness, etc.
Well, since a professing funeral is, 9 times out of 10, nothing more than a gospel meeting, of course the young folks & teenagers are going to be quiet & respectful! That conduct has been drilled into them from a very early age.
What he doesn't see is the conduct of young folks/teenagers outside of meeting. For the most part, they conduct themselves like any other NORMAl child or teenager, getting into mischief, scrapes with the law, disrespect to parents, abortions, drugs, drinking, etc. etc. etc.
That's reality, not the 45 minutes spent in a funeral home during a funeral.

This same thing was posted a couple of months ago.
Give us the name of the funeral home, I'll call and verify if this is true.
I don't care to have urban legands passed on-believed by many as true when it is a figment of someone's imagination.
If it sounds too good to be true-it usually is..........which makes it false.

I have never been to a disprespectful funeral of any kind regardless whether the majority are professing or not. Funerals are solemn occasions where everyone is trying to be respectful. Maybe the similarity in dress and hairstyles helped to make an impression on the funeral director? I don't know, but I know I don't want my outward appearance to be what draws someone. Nuns and priests dress differently than the world, does that make them right? The Amish dress differently, does that make them right? How about the polygamist cults? They look just like many professing men and women. I want what's on the inside to make a statement.

At least the other exclusive groups have been fruitful and generous, the 2x2's are still stuck on themselves. No works just parroting the workers yaking about themselves. They need others to believe in them, cause they don't know Jesus, just the workers.

"It may well be true. Just because you dont believe it doesnt make it a lie. "
Ubetcha! It might be true. If so, someone should be glad to ante up the name of the funeral home so we could check it out.
Just think of the business that funeral home would get-GREAT word of mouth advertising AND a none stop flow of people inviting him to gospel meetings so he could be just like ya.

Respectful is a relative word. How we define it is how we will determine the measure of it in a group of young people.
Using the strict definition of the word, I would definitely say that the f&w young people as well as other very strict religious groups "seem" to have a larger portion of respect during meetings or funerals. This is taught them, and it's a not a bad thing. Sometimes the way it is taught them is not a good thing. (but definitely not always)
Our culture in general has become more casual in many, many ways. My sons kibitz with me in a way that I once would have considered very disrespectful. Now, we have a lot of fun, and I know they have total respect for me. We respect each other, but my definition of that has changed.
I know their hearts, and I'm not worried about what other people think. During a funeral or meeting, they are reasonably observant and quiet, but they would not appear as "respectful" as f&w youth. Oh well.
Blessings, Linda

The Truth is the Truth. Yes, I am born again. Feel free to disapprove. I have a story, a testimony. I am a witness to the Glory of Jesus Christ. Yes, even a sour guy like me is glad for God's provision for me and you. If I tell you what you want to hear and look the way you think I should look, how will that serve God? If I was willing to lie to myself I could lie to you. I refuse to measure up to your standards for your own sake. Jesus excepted me "AS I AM". I don't "NEED" to measure up to anything you and your blind legions arbitrarily dream up. Cause God is extreme, and you and your 2x2 yakety yakety are not able to describe your birth, your unblinding, your change from the flesh to the spirit. Why is that? Cause God doesn't waste his time on those who are not ready? When will you and the 2x2's be ready? Maybe never? How can you be ready for something you think you already have? You cannot afford to seek the Truth can you? Then you will have to trust God in another realm of experience. One you have no control over. One you can't see in, without God's intervention. When God reveals something to us,it trumps everything else we thought we knew........ When will you be ready? You must be tired of that box you hide in? Someday you may look back and see how confined you once were. Do you have any "first hand experience"?

The battle is not with flesh and blood. Both sides need to remember this.

I said......I had an experience that alot ofother Christians have not had. It changed me inside, it changed the way I view the world, it changed the way I see other people. I gave up control to God, and just like the bible says he leads you. He is not big on putting a good spin on his choices like humans do. He made an offering to his creation to make our existance worthwhile to him and us. The 2x2's motto and doctrine is evil. The fruit is not edible. Sorry Go get yourself some spiritual experiences and then tell me about how wonderful and pleasing you and your boxed up friends are to God. We all need Jesus. We are not in competition. The workers teach so many lies, its not difficult to find their flaws. Or anyone elses. We are born flawed. Has Jesus touched you?
