Here in Grand Forks someone or someones stole the projector lenses last night from a local ten-plex theater. The movie - just that movie of the ten - has been moved to another local cinema house.

Today the Wall Street Journal made mention of the movie or the book on AT LEAST 6 or 8 pages. I didn't count, but it seemed that way. The WALL STREET JOURNAL!! Why?
I think Sony (following the book publisher) has just done a phenomenal job of marketing this thing. And it's fascinating that Opus Dei has actually begun to benefit from the buzz! No publicity is bad publicity, as they say - and OD is proving the point. They are turning a PR disaster into a positive. There is b-school dissertation fodder here -- any takers?

Gene, You and your partner had best go back into the work and preach "da Vinci". I'm sure Willis Propp will be glad to provide follow-up!

I just went to this movie tonight. It was interesting, but unconvincing to me.
I went for the sake of being prepared for questions and concerns it raises.
It wasn't as sensational as I expected.
Blessings, Linda

The History channel or maybe TLC did an indepth debunking of the movie-showed the "Code" is nothing but falsehoods.

The more the Catholic church, or fundamentalist conservatives protest...the more does "Da Vinci" becomes forbidden fruit. We all know about forbidden fruit, don't we?

It was made for entertainment. I don't beleive the author of the book had any intention of making claims to "reality." I think its ridiculous for anyone to see it as anything "dangerous" or blasphemous. It's fiction, was written as fiction and is presented as fiction.

In light of that, I find it really interesting that there is so much hyperbole about it in the press and in watercooler conversation!
