If anyone has these lists available, I know my Mom (in Kentucky) would enjoy seeing them. I have forwarded the Casa Grande list to her as well.
Best to all! Edy

Those who possess God's spirit... DO NOT FIND CONVENTI0N BORING![/quote] This reminded me of the Boring,.... convention. I often noticed it on our convention lists we would get after our local special meetings here. Kinda stood out , after the dates, Boring ,................, convention. I suppose ALL the churches.. , oh,and all the people too would be somewhat "Boring"? Does that mean that none of the Boring churches, conventions people possess God's spirit? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't think the poster meant that those who possess God's spirit do not find the Boring, convention grounds and are led somewhere else? ? okay, okay I am BORING already . Have a good one. Alvin

Alvin,
Speaking of boring: Heard an interesting lesson on a Christian radio station yesterday about the reasons heaven will not be boring. We tend to think that heaven will be boring, as we imagine sitting on a cloud and strumming a harp, or polishing the streets of gold. Boring! But heaven won't be boring for the following reasons: 1) God is not boring. Think of the things you enjoy. Who created them? Who created our senses to enjoy them? God did. And where will be during eternity? With God. Heaven won't be boring with God there. 2) Heaven won't be boring because we won't be boring. Some of us may be more boring than others now, but before we reach heaven, we'll all be changed (I Cor 15:51) 3) Heaven won't be boring because our friends won't be boring. They'll be changed as well, and your boring unsaved friends won't be there. You'll be able to enjoy fellowship with believers of all ages. 4) Heaven won't be boring because you'll be serving God - Rev 7:15, 22:3. When we reach heaven, God doesn't say: "Well done thou good and faithful servant, take the rest of eternity off." We'll have a very interesting place to serve. Heaven won't be boring.
Looking forward to it.

Go Blue, Junia,.. Thanks for your posts which I did NOT find boring!!! Neat thoughts about heaven not being boring. I dunno, about the "boring unsaved friends won't be there" statement though. For myself, I can't say my friends who are "unbelievers", are boring at all- quite the opposite, really, BUT then again he didn't say "unbeliever's" either. He said "unsaved", and I don't feel qualifed or mandated to make that call, so I guess we are free to enjoy "unboring" ( I doubt that is a word~) friends, whether "believers' or "unsaved" , EH? Oh, oh, I'm off track , AGAIN , as this thread started as a request for a speaking list for Buttonwillow and Santee CA. Anyone out there got the list? I find them interesting also, as many times there are names of people , known to many of us. Kinda neat- reading names of people we know from around the world- likely wouldn't know them if one hadn't been in the f&w church. Lots of good people. What?- you don't agree?- hey, us exes were there also, and were good people THEN, as NOW~~~~~~~~~~~ Cheers, Alvin PS - speaking of names of workers, it was and is still quite common to identify "church affilliation" amongst f&w by asking " do you know __________so and so, (worker's name, often head worker or more famous one) Have had some interesting conversations with strangers using this somewhat unique cultural( or whatever) characteristic amongst f&w. I don't ever remember being asked by a f&w church member "are you a believer" but instead, if I know so and so. LIkewise, for myself ,when I was a "member" I did not ask "suspect" friends this question. It is common to ask now, or to be asked by strangers, "are you a believer" . While in Malaysia a while ago, a Korean man came up to us and asked " are you a Jesus follower", followed by a very encouraging visit. Back to the list , now, Boring, uhhh ,no, Buttonwillow and Santa Claus??
