2 Corinthians 6:17 - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
What does this meant to you/for you? How does it control you life? What are the unclean things? Has the clean become blurred? mixed with the unclean? Have they become mixed with Christianity? Is what the world enjoys really seperated from todays Christianity?

My personal views: We must be "in the world" but we don't have to be "part of the world". It means separating yourself from the things that aren't Godly. I often struggle with this. Unclean things are things that would hinder us from having a close, harmonious relationship with Jesus. It's often different things for different people.
Has clean become blurred? In society, yes, but I think, deep down, we all know what is right. I wouldn't say they've been mixed with Christianity- I don't think that's the correct phrasing. I believe some people have to explore the unclean in order to really know the separation.

Separation comes from the Holy Spirit. Even when society (or others) see it as "right" or "okay"...the Holy Spirit draws you away--inwardly--from it. It also comes from knowing "right" and "wrong" thinking...and "sin"...according to God's definitions--which are found in the scriptures.
Together, they separate you--and make you want to stay separated from--whatever is wrong in God's eyes.
Of course, some times we need to listen a bit better...And, at other times--it does take, as "withopeneyes"...experience...to be the teacher.

thanks for your thoughts and I agree. God will show us we journey what are the unclean things, what He wants us separated from, and we all are at different stages of the process. It is very easy to make judgment on people who God has separated more say than ourselves as being to exclusive or ridiculing what they see as right because of separation, as being a load of rot or lies just because we have not reached that position. I have posted things on this board over the years which God has shown me were not correct in my life just to be ridiculed. A good example is the forth post on this thread. I think we also must take responsability for our own actions. We have the Bible which say's thou shall not, plain and simple to read and understand without Gods promptings, yet thou shall not ends up being done on this board. We must have the power of God to over come these things which keep us bound to this earth. I would say that any who have added one thing which is out side Gods will has mixed the unclean with Christianity. It is no longer clean, pure. It is not hard to see that many things have been added by christianity, which has put division between God and man.
