Some workers often pray about the needs of the harvest field. There is a verse to that effect in the New Testament. I remember the workers telling us not to worry about world conditions because God is in control. Yet the workers seemed so worried about the worker shortages that plague the Eastern half of the US.
And there is a worker shortage. Brother workers are in short supply in many states east of the Rockies. Iowa and Minnesota are the only states with more than 3 sets of brother workers, correct me if I am wrong.
They want the friends to pray that new workers will go out and preach. These sermons will cause some young people to "go out" for awhile. Keeping workers in the harvest field is more of a problem than getting young people to "offer for the work!"
I often wonder about the future of this group.

I often wonder about the future of this group. Let's pray that there is NO "group" in the future and that all the current workers and friends find Jesus as their personal Savior and spend the rest of their lives serving and worshipping God.

The shortage of workers may be the result of some head workers making life too difficult for the younger ones. In the overall scheme of things this may be a good thing as some of the friends are beginning to see that all is not as it should be. I hope that those who are trusting in the system learn to trust Jesus only.

There is no shortage of workers.

Exactly. If they stopped preaching to the converted and did some proper proselytizing, the perceived shortage would cease to exist.

Greg - You must be brainwashed or something. There is definitely a shortage of workers in the midwest. Have you seen all of the US worker's lists. Lots of women tho.

I did a service to the workers then by exxing myself.
One less person to pray for, one less bed to get used to, one less to count attendance. All that work probably was taxing.

Radio preaching would be good for the Truth. Get the word out! Let the world know that the Friends and Workers are the only ones going to heaven! The world should have the facts! Then all the real Christians would pray for the friends and workers and who knows? Maybe the friends and workers would get SAVED! How cool would that be !

God is to the one who draws the people to His ministers, not the other way around. Please give the qualifications of a real christian?

God is to the one who draws the people to His ministers, not the other way around. My Bible tells me that God draws people unto Himself.

U don't get it - You think Greg means there are too many workers. Nah, not him, he wouldn't think that. Have to check with Robert Johnson on that one.

Only a few young people are suited to the homeless ministry style of the workers. Workers shouldn't try to pressure young people to go out into the harvest field. Maybe they wouldn't have the high turnover rate if there was less preaching about the needs of the harvest field. I have seen young people leave the work emotionally drained and know God would never ask that of young people.
