One thing that bothered me about the meeting prayers was the expression "lead thy servants to LOST SOULS!" As if the workers were the only avenues to Jesus! Yes the workers could seek lost souls. Another clergy system could do the same thing. God can work outside the worker's meetings. And independently of the worker's ministry. Sure some of the friends believe Jesus established the worker's ministry and doesn't accept other ministries. I believed it for many years. It is good to know that God's way is greater than the professing folks and workers. God can use them and does use them, for that matter. I wished the friends would see that God is greater than their fellowship.

"I wished the friends would see that God is greater than their fellowship. "
Why do you wish this?

"I wished the friends would see that God is greater than their fellowship. " Why do you wish this? wouldn't it be nice if the majority in the fellowship would embrace all Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ?

A miracle occurs each time a Christian is "Born Again" (spiritual birth) The 2x2's don't seem to be aware of this. God makes us his children. God Saves us from ourselves and our fates. He leads us threw the "Valley of the Shadow of Death" God makes us thankful, not the workers............... All the friends and workers see is the tip of the iceberg. Trying to "appear right" in the eyes of their own judgement and beliefs (what they have been endoctrinated to)..........

hi5, that was an interesting thought it has gone over my head time and time again lead the workers to lost souls as if the workers are the only ones that can help
INTERESTING God created God planned God saves
the prayers would be more appropriate if they were prayed, God help the lost
thanks!

I am willing to accept the workers as an AVENUE to God. But not the ONLY avenue to God.
A few years ago a lady was speaking in meeting about praying for the harvest field. She said "where would we be without God's servants and what hope would the perishing world have without God's Servants!" To me, that indicated that she believed that no other form of ministry could bring men and women to Jesus save the worker's ministry. Just a thought.
Lost souls could find Christ through reading, praying, experiences, etc.. God saved people in the bible independently of some ministry. God spoke to others outside the confines of a little meeting.
