I have come to view the next step of total spiritual growth in the totality of death. With reference to the following scriptures and many relevant other scriptures relating to the total and fullness of being in the Spirit.
Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. Matthew 5:28-30 (in Context) Matthew 5 (Whole Chapter)
Matthew 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. Matthew 5:29-31 (in Context) Matthew 5 (Whole Chapter)
The next step would be to kill yourself since the body is flesh and the failings of our becoming total in the HOLY SPIRIT. This is not to say that the HS cannot bring us into this fullness while alive. However, if our down side is the weakness of flesh then I see no problem in removing it from the equation. We upon our death (elimination of body) will become spirit. If our heart is to remove those things which cause us to sin: Then the next logical conclusion would be to eliminate the whole body.

You first and see if you can tell me what happened after you do it.

Why would you want to kill something that already has SPIRIT? By your logic, you want to kill the body because you could then become 'spirit'? You already are spirit AND body. So if you kill your body before your work/time on this earth is done, you are in a sense, killing your very own SPIRITUAL GROWTH! There! Chew on that for awhile, buster! No, not ghostbuster, but I am sure that 'ghost' just might have something to add here............................................................................... ........................ .............. ....... ... .

This is one of the cornerstones of Gnostic thinking......all matter is evil and only the spiritual is good. Since the body is matter, and evil, it doesn't matter what you do with it. This is an extreme conclusion, but its root is gnosticism. I'd recommend reading 1John, this book is John's rebuke of gnostic thinking at that time.

Wait A second. So then it is alright to pluck out your eye or cut off your hand? Humm. Well let say your thoughts are totally evil and you find yourself doing evil because of mind but yet you know it is wrong. OK cut off your head.
Oh wait, let us not blame the mind but the members which do the evil. Well start with the arm since it was attached to the hand. OK, I will keep my only eye so that I can let the spirit finish the work in me.
So now my other arm is doing evil. I need it because my legs are going to the evil places. I need the last arm to cut off my legs. Well now, that is better. No legs, one eye and only one arm Can't go to those places where my mind sends me to do evil.
Aw Oh now my last arm is doing bad stuff. Oh that dirty arm. It has to go. OK, so Joe agreed to help me so he cut off my last arm. Hummm, still not complete. I can see bad stuff because my mind still wants to see bad evil stuff. My heart knows it is wrong but I cannot control my eye.
Come on Joe I asked. I need you to help save my body. I need you to remove my last eye and my ears since they are still seeing evil and hearing evil. Haaa finally. I am complete. I am now only a torso with a head. I can see no evil nor hear no evil and I have no arms nor legs. I must finish the job. I need my tongue removed so that I cannot speak no evil. Now that is better--nothing left but the mind and heart. But, wait what good is the mind. It cause consistent war within myself what is left. My heart and part of my mind still wars within me. I can only have peace if I remove that part of my mind which cause me to think evil. I might as well be deadOK well I can not do that now because I have no members I cannot remove the evil because we have no member. I cannot cut all of my members away because we will have no body. If we really want to cut all the parts of the body away which offend us we will have nothing. As you see the end result it that (ALL THE MEMBERS ARE CONTROLLED BY THE MIND) To remove the evil within we must have a transformed (MIND) --- The mind of CHRIST. It will serve no purpose for anyone to cause any member to be removed because it is the MIND of CHRIST which determines what we will do.

God created man and said"Very good." I don't believe God would want us to terminate our life to become complete.Only He knows the day and hour of our death and it won't come to us a minute sooner than he has planned. If Jesus had meant for us to end life to be comlete, wouldn't he had said "Go kill thyself"?

I agree with bowhunter. Killing yourself just ain't right...it ain't fittin'. And if it ain't fittin', it just ain't fittin'! It's not even logically natural for someone to take their own life.
