In my opinion from what I have read, God wants us to trust the authority of himself and his son more than he wants us to trust man.
Sincerely,

To your thoughts please: For as long as I can remember, workers considered themselves on a plane closer to God. Some of us have even been rebuked for not creating a greater distance between ourselves and the friends.
To in your very midst: Do you actually believe that is what that scripture foretells? How sad in my opinion. But yes, that is the party line and you are going to hold to it, huh? I do notice the conviction is not so strong you can actually identify yourself with it by name. Why do you suppose that is?
Sincerely,
Dennis Hi Dennis, May I ask a question of you. I take it by this statement that you disagree with the premise. ( For as long as I can remember, workers considered themselves on a plane closer to God.) While I certainly agree that when one seeks to elevate themselves to be someone of great spiritual leadership-(i.e. knowing or being closer to understanding of God) is a great error for may reasons. I feel this every time I here RCC say the POPE is the HOLY Father. However I am perplexed in that we know that Angels and The HOLY GHOST does work in individuals. We really don't know who it is unless revealed. So my question--Do you think that it is possible that perhaps somewhere in the world of 2x2s there may be one who is or could be truly of God, a true messenger ordained by the HOLY SPIRIT and led in the Mystery of knowledge? Sorry for the rattling on but I think you get what I am trying to say.

It would sure be good to know a worker like that. Could you enlighten us as to who it is or do you have to keep the name a secret? How will he facilitate an awakening if no one know who he is and we all can seek him out? He can facilitate by continuing to teach and preach in his current manner. His companion may not like it,but he doesn't keep his views a secret.I suspect he will be moved around as is their way-maybe out of state. But if a seeking heart is listening and brave enuff to discuss these things he will succeed. It is not my place to reveal his identity -that would be Goodappollo's privilege. Thank you Bowhunter. The worker I spoke to, Jason Swayze, does indeed have a great hope for the F&W. Again, I wish him all the best. Sincerely, good apollo

Jason is a great guy. I too wish him the best. I will be very pleasantly surprised if, in my lifetime the fellowship changes it's core exclusive ways. If it did I might be the first back. Oh wait I haven't left yet! Oh well, you know what I mean! ;D

They think anything we say or think contrary to their opinions is human wisdom! Wisdom of man! Their opinions are human contrary to what some in the "truth" believe! They feel their authority comes from heaven and shouldn't be challenged or questioned in many cases. Wonder if it has ever ocurred to them that what they are saying is just human wisdom???

The workers premise is that THEY are John 1:14 "The word became flesh and dwelt among us." That is heresy. That verse clearly refers to Jesus. They are NOT divine. They are NOT on a plain closer to God. They are NOT the mediator between the friends and God. They can NOT speak for Him because they cannot have the Holy Spirit living in them...when they claim that Spirit is only a force and not the very nautre of God.

"I don't know of any worker that believes that... would preach that... or would even come close to thinking such a thought."
I heard that very issue preached on Hector , MN convention just last year. It wasn't just in passing, either. A story was told to illustrate the point. It was brought to present by describing the workers "on my and on my left" as the word made flesh.

I took the above poster for what he posted... that the workers said they were the Word that it is talking about in John 1:14. That is simply not true. Now in that they are striving to be like Jesus - as a servant of God to mankind, yes he was probably correct. But here in this post the complete context of the comment from Hector is absent.

Not too "MANY" wokers that I know who believe or teach they are Jesus in the flesh! that is ridiculous thing I have ever heard. How can the workers be Jesus (God/Jehovah) when they know they themselves they just are humans. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega. He exists before the foundation of the world. The workers are not from the beginning nor have they existed before the world was created.

IMO, the reason that the worker who spoke that the workers are the word made flesh wouldn't consider that to be a blasphemous statement would be that he didn't consider Jesus to be deity. I was there and heard the words come from his mouth, and I've laid out the context in the past. There is no question he knew what he was saying. If you think about it though, if you didn't think Jesus was God in the flesh, you'd have no problem stating that a man could be the word made flesh. The worker told the story and explained himself in a very humble spirit, no arrogance at all....I'm sure he didn't consider the statement to be controversial. It's just an example of what can happen when you don't believe in Christ's deity.

I have heard both Workers and friends state with conviction that the workers are "Jesus come in the flesh !" Some believe that they are Jesus on Earth today.

I believe that grass is green, but it is not always so.
I have also seen tan grass, brown grass, yellow grass, and bluegrass.

You are right Nathan, the workers are not from the beginning, they're just babes, with a little over a hundred years under their belt. MANY have told me personally that this way started from the period in ACTS when the church was established.

I assure you that I CAN read, and with help maybe I can understand. So perhaps you would be willing to help me understand the point you feel I'm missing. Or is the point that you simply want to attack me?
