Not a word on the subject anywhere .... Plenty of information on the Ex 2x2 face book group. Lists of closed conventions etc.

Naughty boy Bob. Not hard to get the boot from Facebook sites. I found that out. But thank goodness we have TMB to come back to. They are more tolerant and understanding, good common sense people. Willing to accept different views, the way it should be.

Willing to accept different views, the way it should be. This is what one FB page has as it's by line and purpose: I was not surprised though that they are still believers in a god. Oh the irony. ...."and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

Ellershouse Nova Scotia 2024 is cancelled and they are looking for a new location. Woodstock, NB is cancelled and Bowsman MB owners cancelled. That's all I've seen. Some BC ones too.

And on the Daryl Doland regional staff meeting, it was mentioned that if the abandoned or did not proceed with the GRACE report, they would probably lose Olympia (I think that is what it was) convention and half of Seattle. This did not seem to faze anyone.
I hear from someone in the church, in the USA, that pressure is being put on people to attend conventions due to the lack of numbers registering. Some are realising that their base is crumbling.

They thought they were set for life and now it's kind of tentative and for sure not as many to contribute.

There was a report about an 83 yr old sister worker who left the work because of the poor handling of CSA, and she was no bleeding heart liberal either. They have known nothing else, and from what we hear, in some places they leave with nothing.
And I spare a thought for the younger sincere devout ones who must surely feel like they have been duped, but feel powerless.

The only other convention in the Maritimes is Napan, which just a couple of years ago was changed to a 3-day special meeting style event with no dining or sleeping facilities. One of the worker's private cabins ended up in my brother's back yard -- but now that worker been teleported thousands of miles away. How interesting.

One brother worker who left the work when he was still young, said that he decided to do that because he did not want to end up in old age in that same situation.

Some of those sheds would make great workshops.

I have no idea how they would deal with that side of it. Someone close to the Bainbridges might know what happens there. I know of one meeting shed that would make quite a good ice-skating rink, or even a small indoor music hall, with the addition of some tiered seating!

They were telling us that they were just farm sheds being utilized for a couple weeks of the year for convention. There was some funny looking bits and pieces in those farm sheds such as the long ovens fueled by wood and the wash bays. Maybe they could have some concerts there. Get a few good acts going and make the place rock.

I heard from one of the guys involved with constructing the shed, that a question was asked of NM about paying for it, and he replied, don't worry, there's plenty of money!

Just don't ask Keith Moon to play drums. (Cow Palace, San Francisco 1973? I think.

The Who’s rock opera “Tommy” would be most appropriate. The Miracle Cure of Tommy’s Holiday Camp where Cousin Kevin would Fiddle About would cause Sally Simpson to shout I’m Free and We’re Not Gonna Take It 🤣
