Today - 12 June in the USA - Hulu released an Impact X Nightline production called "Secrets of the 2x2 Church".
CSA survivors tell their stories with immense courage. The FBI explains its role in the worldwide investigation. The lawyer from the Spotlight movie is representing some of the 2x2 survivors (!!)
This is compelling viewing. Currently available only on Hulu in the US.

While it can be seen with the use of a VPN (I prefer NordVPN) I would imagine it would eventually find it's way onto YouTube once it has outlived it's commercial use. That would also help it meet what I would say is the prime target audience. Being restricted to Hulu, either direct or through Apple TV, is reaching primarily an audience where is more confirmation, than new information. I could be wrong, because I don't know the American viewership.

Of course there will be those with the siege mentality who circle the wagons, and bring out 'the enemy' talk. And blame 'bitter ex-es' without consideration as to why they hold the views they do, and maybe their expression of anger and frustration at being deceived is justified.

I listened to the Darryl Doland meeting last night and started to try and summarise it for a post today, which I’ll add later if I get it finished. My thought too was about the backtracking on the policies, guidelines and investigations, especially coming on the heels of a similar message that came from the Craig Winquist meeting.

Growing up every thing was doom and gloom. If I wanted to go to a local dance as a teenager, I was quoted some scripture about how it is better to go to the house of mourning than the house of gaiety. Drove me bonkers. It's like cult members weren't allowed to smile or be happy. When I'm happy and content, I find myself waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Imo, most ex's seem very bitter, even angry. The sexual abuse has just sent them into overdrive.

Thanks for the link, its so sad that they don't really seem to get it and are clueless. The bigger problem is with what they believe, its requires forgiveness over prosecution. As Elizabeth's book title says, "Legacy of the Living Witness Doctrine" is the deeper rooted problem that facilitated the abused. CSA is a major problem. As a crime, it is only second to murder, in my opinion.
But as bad as that is, the wider problem is the reaction to it. The overseers who enabled it, and will not be accountable. Those who deny, like Gary Paul, and there are many elders and friends who are like that. NIMBYs.
The culture in the church that has permitted the overseers to get away such secrecy for all this time.
It is sick. A devout, and very sad innie messaged me today, and said that it does not seem to be salvageable.
I feel for the sincere and devout people, and workers who have been deceived.

May Carroll, one of William Irvine converts in 1897 became a Faith Mission sister worker in 1898 but she left them in 1900s to became a 2x2 worker. So the way out is to cling to the GRACE Report and, like Pilate, wash their hands of it all and forgive the criminals and turn them loose to harm again. You may take comfort in the fact that sexual criminals have a low recidivism rate but remember that the very secret nature of sex crimes and because few sexual offenses are reported to authorities is what causes this low recidivism rate.
