On June 13, 2024, ABC Hulu will air a 50-minute segment about sexual abuse in a secret sect referred to as the “2x2s.” Part of the segment tells my story about being sexually assaulted in 1982 by Steve Rohs when I was 14 years old.
Since 1986, I have been pleading for the 2x2 leadership to protect other youth from Steve Rohs. They refused. I have since learned that my experience was not isolated, and child sexual assault and sexual assault is rampant in the organization. This has caused me to commit a significant part of my life to expose the widespread abuse in the 2x2s to protect others.
When I started this mission of exposure, I could never have predicted that 38 years later there would be a documentary exposing the massive amount of crimes within the 2x2 organization. I could never have predicted that my experience was just one of thousands; that countless other survivors like myself had been silenced for decades; or, that the 2x2 leadership would protect and promote pedophiles and perpetrators within the organization.
Now, the crimes and corruption of the 2x2s is finally brought to light for the entire world to see in this stunningly accurate and factual documentary produced by Lauren Lantry of ABC. Despite having to relive the abuse, I feel honored to be a part of this project. I am filled with gratitude for the research and integrity that Lauren Lantry and ABC have displayed through these last several months in producing this documentary.
I am only one of many survivors who participated in this documentary. I admire and respect every survivor whose courage and bravery allowed their voice to be heard in this documentary. My heart goes out to all survivors of the corrupt 2x2 organization. My hope and prayers are healing for each and every one of you.
I will be updating this post with a link to the documentary when it becomes available.
Together we are making a difference~

We salute you sheri01, for the courage you have shown and the effort you have put into exposing this criminal behaviour. And we know it must be mentally taxing for you and admire your tenacity. I know that many others on TMB will share my sentiments. Our best wishes to you for the future.

Thank you Sheri for all your efforts. You are certainly making a difference.
I have slightly technical question though. To maximise the impact, the documentary needs to be available in the future in a YouTube podcast format. Hulu is not available in a number of countries outside the USA/Canada region, and most of the "innies" who should be considered a prime target audience, do not have either a Smart TV or VPN. For, I simply use NordVPN to obtain a US IP address. Will Hulu make the documentary available for worldwide viewing at a later date?
Many thanks and kind regards

I did too Snow - I only just managed to catch most of the YouTube clip before it was taken down, but my wife managed to watch the whole thing. Her reaction, "What an outfit".
I am wondering if the likes of this Gary Paul and Larry Taylor are somewhat neuro-divergent. What universe do they live in? And these overseers, from Alan Mitchell to Daryl Doland are simply playing with people's lives like a cat with a mouse.

He did everything but say, "I don't believe it."

He said he had never seen it and he didn't believe that it could happen with the ministry. I wonder if he thinks that someone is going to commit CSA while he's looking!! He doesn't care about the children all he wants to do is protect the ministry. What a twisted selfish man. Unfortunately he's not the only one. Listening to the Darryl Doland talks with other workers and overseers makes me think that there is no hope that these people are going to do anything. Their reason was 'we can put guidelines in place but if someone wants to commit these acts they will find a way so why bother with guidelines'. Why have laws because people will always break them is the stupidest argument yet! The reason why we have rules is because their is guidelines in place that when people break the rules there can be consequences. I don't think they want any consequences because then they would be subject to them and/or be inconvenienced in having to enforce the rules. Don't want to inconvenience them

Don't want to inconvenience them Doland has to deal with the "doctrine" pushed by his predecessors -- "one does not go to the law against his brother." I think a lot of their present problem would not have been a problem had the workers, who knew of such incidents, not advised the parents against reporting it to the police. It's been a convenient control that the ministry has had over the whole fellowship since the beginning. They have to stop interfering with appropriate criminal justice system workings.

They have an abuse rate that might rival that of the Catholic Church, and yet have the audacity to claim exclusive access to the holy spirit that can help the 2x2 perps to overcome their urges, and since that sets them apart from the rest of the world, they really don't need "corporate" style guidelines. And all the while, they have an abuse rate that might rival that of the Catholic Church. During the staff meeting recording that was shared, a young sounding guy pointed out the terrible track record of the Overseers over many decades wrt CSA and SA. His words seemed to get drowned out by the pious declarations that all they need to do is preach Jesus, and anyone who isn't satisfied with that is a goat, or a sheep without a shepherd, or some such nonsense. Seems like the Holy Spirit is asleep at the wheel. I'm rooting for the FBI.

Jon McClernon in one of his podcast said that the offending rate in the church was about double that of the Catholic church.
I was astounded by the Sister worker's approach too.....very much toeing the party line

Doland has to deal with the "doctrine" pushed by his predecessors -- "one does not go to the law against his brother." That's interesting as my father refused to sue a hospital that did irreparable damage to him because of this doctrine. He later regretted it.

If the ministry collectively feel they are under attack by the laity, they are entitled to have that opinion, and if needed defend themselves. But that, by definition, means they are disqualified to be the judge of the matter. There are two apparent non-biased sources of fair judgement, God and secular society authorities. But, of course, it's reported that God is also biased, depending on who one consults on the matter.
