As one of many victims,to me its known history dating back into the 1930's,this word explains what we felt when we watched a Bro/Sister Preacher on the platform trying to convince us that they were ""True servants of God"". Knowing that prior one or many of us were victims of molestation by that preachers hands.. And afterwards you would hear people say OH !! wasn't xyz lovely today. Grrrr we being to scared to open our mouths..
Extracts from Oxford reference and Antinomy--
ANTINOMIANISM -- The belief held by various sects, but particularly by radical protestant movements, ------- ,that contain chosen christians are by faith or by predestination unable to sin,,and are hence set free from the requirement to obey any moral law.. Antinomianism is frequently associated with unconventional lifestyles (demanded celibate??) and sexual practices..
ANTINOMIAN -- A person who believes that christians are freed by grace from the obligation of observing the moral law; spec ;a member of various radical protestant groupings ------- that were said to hold this opinion and were "often" accused of immoral and licentious practices.
If you feel the above is wrong in any please feel free to quote any scripture to support your own views, Thanks

Much appreciated. Letting you into a secret, numerous times I've been tempted to call "time" on TMB, past its use-by date, and people like you come to mind who seem to value this forum and we would all be poorer without your contributions and insights from your history with the 2x2 church group. So thanks. Antinomianism - you had me racing to the dictionary There are some other weirdly-named heresies which I've come across in the 2x2 Friends & Workers around the world, here's just a few: Arianism Pelagianism Arminianism Some biblically good (sound) doctrine also is found (praise God!): Sola Fide Roots in the Holiness Movement, Welsh Revival, etc. I'm still searching for the origins of convention curry, possibly an old middle-eastern recipe handed down from some old monks or (less sexy) good old Irish stew (minus the Guinness). Dunno, a mystery how something so good had its beginnings! To steal a phrase, "they're a weird mob"!

Sorry Admin, but I thought this might explain the real situation.
“We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” ― Dr. Seuss
So I guess at the end of the day if weirdness creates love, then that is a good thing. Magpie and myself are both weird we were together in the same class at secondary school, plus we are " Fair Dinkum" Australians.
Admin I agree 2x2's are a weird mob, but that is in keeping with the meaning of the word, "suggesting something supernatural; unearthly". Does fit, but we have to admit that there was a type of love between members the whole World over. If you went to visit another country you would always be able to find a 2x2 stranger who would treat you as a friend. So maybe we have to give them some credit that their weirdness creates that.
And if they do start putting "Guinness" in Convention stew, I will line up for that. As you know I am a real "Guinness" supporter. My Daughter puts it in stew, fruit cake, etc and I always go back for seconds. For health reasons of course.
