Oh joy! But they have to prepare and so does Mexico. The US is in for a hard time and it's quickly escalating. It will be good to have Steve Bannan's voice quieted while he does his 4 months in jail, but there are plenty more rattling the war sabers in this crazy MAGA movement.

Found this video scary crazy, but very much in line with the movement that has been growing stronger by the decades in the US.

You know, people keep asking why the MAGA movement exists. But in some ways this has been coming for a long time and we're not just seeing it in the US but in Canada also. The gap between the have's and the have not's has grown and many people have a feeling of powerless as they have more and more rules and regulations put on their lives and higher costs of living etc. They see tax cuts for those who are already rich. The loop holes that the very rich have to not pay taxes are just not there for the regular person. So when someone comes along that can 'sell' that the current government is nothing but corrupt, that they don't care about the 'common man' etc. these people are already in that mindset and so they are vulnerable to someone like Trump or those in Canada that are playing to the anti government crowd. The Alberta premier is a good example of how Trumpism is spilling over in the more conservative communities/provinces in Canada. So I can see how this happened, what I don't know is what it will take now for people to come to their senses and see that Trump isn't the demi god they think he is and he isn't anymore willing to make their lives better than any other politician. In fact, he wants to do things that will raise the cost of living. Tariffs on all products imported into the US is a good example of that. It will get passed on to the consumer, no two ways about it.
We just had a federal dental program for seniors and children turned down by our provincial leader because she wants to have control of the money. So that's the agenda, control away from the federal government at the cost of benefits for the people that really need that program. Also talking about opting out of Canada Pension Plan. People have paid into that all their lives. But this is how far it's gone. This feeling of angst against the rulers has made people vote for people that they think will help them out, but in reality they aren't any different. They don't care about the people. They are playing on the angst in order to have the power themselves.

Most billionaires and rich people have never paid much income tax because they take their profits and re-invest them. That's capitalism at its finest, without that incentive no new jobs would be created, the GDP would shrink, and stagnation would rule the day.
Federal programs providing dental, health, housing, food, hospitalization, phones, child care, free college, etc, are no longer financially possible. Socialism doesn't make everyone equal, it eventually makes everyone poor. The run away inflation we are experiencing is directly caused by governments printing & spending money they don't have. Canada's 'free' dental care isn't free, its borrowed money ($2 trillion in debt) usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html
The USA is paying interest of well over a trillion dollars annually on its debt, imagine what that much money could do if not wasted on debt interest. Eisenhower built our entire interstate highway system for $150 billion, that kind of investment increased productivity & efficiency making the U.S. the worlds largest economic powerhouse. Now we're spending $2700 per month on millions of illegals living in 5 star hotels. That's the difference between progressive socialist and conservatives.
Government does not create jobs, businesses do. Socialist don't build economies, they barricade growth. Capitalism dictates the quality of life, socialism kills entrepreneurship and makes everyone reliant on government. The big difference between Republicans and Democrats is self-reliance verses dependency. i.e; A republican goes to a dentist and pays the bill, a democrat wants his neighbor to pay it. Workers pay the freight, the lazy demand a free ride.

Actually we do pay for our 'free' medical through sales taxes and provincial taxes, we just don't pay when we have to access these services. Some of the best countries on earth to live are those countries that do take care of their citizens. The US is one of the worst in that regard. It's fine as long as you can afford to go to the dentist and pay, but those who can't afford it just can't get the work done. That isn't a good thing for a large part of your population.

That's capitalism at its finest, without that incentive no new jobs would be created, the GDP would shrink, and stagnation would rule the day. I'm not sure how profits can be reinvested tax-free in America. That seems unfair, and new jobs can be created when only tax-paid income is reinvested.

Most billionaires and rich people have never paid much income tax because they take their profits and re-invest them. "Taking profit" is a taxable event. When you sell an equity at a profit you must pay capital gains tax. The tax problem with the billionaires & ultra high net worth individual UHNW, is when they passed their wealth on to the next generation, and take advantage of the " Step-Up in Basis" on inherited stocks. So a guy like Buffett pays no tax and his stock goes from $1 to $1,000 and it pays no dividends during his life, then he gifts the stock to his kids, which gets the step up cost basis. This allows him to pay a lower tax rate than his secretary. I am not in favor of a wealth tax, but I am in favor of a minimum tax rate for the UHNW & billionaires. Most of the top 1% can't avoid taxes, but the UHNW can. In the USA; UHNW = 700,000, Billionaires = 800.)

Also known as trickle down economics. It was fine for the rich as they got the poor to shoulder the tax burden for them.

The 'poor' don't have a tax burden.. Over 40% of Americans pay no income tax at all.. The wealthy (top 1 percent) paid 42.3 percent of all federal income taxes. The top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined.
Keep in mind that its Biden who's paying off college loans for people making six figures, so its the dems who are pampering the well-to-do in order to buy their votes.

The poor qualify for Medicaid, but your correct, the only way to get 100% free medical care in the U.S. is to come here illegally.
As I mentioned before, the average person who was born here and paid taxes for 40-50 years gets about $1700 per month at age 66. Illegal aliens not born here and who've never paid a dime in taxes cost about $2700 per month.

The rich pay more taxes than the poor because that's where the money is. The UHNW and the billionaires are the ones who can best avoid taxes. The tax picture is different when you look at the tax rate on the money you spend. The top 1% & UHNW often live below their means, while the bottom 40% often spend more than they earn and end up paying high credit card interest rates. Sale tax is also not progressive, so the poor pay a greater percent of sales tax on their consumption than the rich. High taxes are of no concern for true Christians, as they don't pursue riches. Luke 6:24 But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Matthew 6:19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

Those on state funded medical care (welfare/low income) are restricted to what doctors accept their medical insurance due to lower payments to the doctor. A lot of specialists won't take state funded insurance. Only one dentist in town takes state funded insurance. I am retired and on medicare. It is a hard road to go to find a doctor or dentist that accepts medicare insurance. I had to switch doctors when I retired because my doctor wouldn't accept medicare. A lot of doctors aren't accepting new patients due to a shortage of doctors.
The hubby's cousin started making poor decisions and not showing up for work which led to him being fired and losing his medical insurance. When he finally collapsed and ended up in the hospital, they found a brain tumor. His father had to sign away his house and savings to pay for his son's surgery. The father was left homeless. If the father had not paid for the surgery, the son would have died. No one should have to die because they can't afford medical insurance.
And what bugs me is that if a woman is on welfare (state funded assistance/food/cash/medical) it is because she has children to support. A low-income woman or man with no children have no options. State funded medical will not pay for birth control but will pay support for the child till the age of 18. Go figure.
Healthcare in the USA sucks. No one should have to die or become bankrupt because they can't afford or aren't eligible for medical insurance.
Allow me complain a bit. What bugs me is that I paid for healthcare premiums for years. I paid on average $12,000 a year for medical insurance. When I saw a doctor, the insurance paid $200 a visit. Yet state funded insurance pays the doctor $50 a visit. Should not all visits to the doctor be the same? I don't get it.

The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) is Jesus promoting capitalism . Our government actually prefers that the wealthy re-invest their capital gains rather than keeping the money and paying taxes on it. The economy is dependent on investments, its spurs economic growth and creates new jobs. So over time, a business that hires more employees will generate more government revenue than a one time tax on profits.
One of my landlords was a multi-millionaire and I asked him once what his income tax rate was. He said, " I don't know and I don't care if its 1% or 99% because I never pay anything anyway". He also told me that when selecting stocks, find a company who's net profits are close to zero, businesses that show huge profits are poorly managed because they're throwing away a ton of money to the government. As you quoted in Matthew 6:19, the thieves that break in and steal are IRS agents

Your right, Medicare and Social Security suck.. Consider that a person making $160,000 annually and works for 50 years (16 to age 66) will pay 15.3% a year for Medicare and Social Security. The total tax paid would be $1,224,000.00. And imagine if you were allowed to keep & invest that money by buying 5% bonds instead of giving it to the government. You would have millions to retire on and dental bills wouldn't be a problem. As an investment, Social Security sucks, but Nester's prefer their government take of them.

The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) is Jesus promoting capitalism . I find there are more verses where Jesus promotes socialism over capitalism. Acts 2:44-45: "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."
Matthew 25:35-40 "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
Luke 3:11: "John answered, 'Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.'"
Luke 12:33-34: "Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Luke 14:13-14: "But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
Matthew 19:21: "Jesus answered, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'"
One of my landlords was a multi-millionaire and I asked him once what his income tax rate was. He said, "I don't know and I don't care if its 1% or 99% because I never pay anything anyway". He also told me that when selecting stocks, find a company who's net profits are close to zero, businesses that show huge profits are poorly managed because they're throwing away a ton of money to the government. The depreciation write off is a give-a-way to the rich. Poor people don't benefit from a depreciation write off. I would say the most profitable companies are also the fastest growing ones, and are very well managed. They use profits for investment not dividends. US companies with the most growth & their annual dividend yield 1. Apple Inc. 0.45% annual dividend yield 2. Nvidia 0.03% annual dividend yield 2. Microsoft Corporation 0.65% annual dividend yield 3. Alphabet Inc. 0.43% annual dividend yield 4. Berkshire Hathaway 0.0% annual dividend yield

The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30) is Jesus promoting capitalism What is Jesus promoting in the following? Matthew 19:20 The young man said to him, “I have kept all these; what do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this word, he went away grieving, for he had many possessions.

That descibes American prosperity gospel perfectly.

Canada's 'free' dental care isn't free, its borrowed money ($2 trillion in debt) usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.htmlThe USA is paying interest of well over a trillion dollars annually on its debt, imagine what that much money could do if not wasted on debt interest.
It all depends on what kind of society you want to live in -- one where everyone is healthy and productive, or one where half the population is incapable of high productive earning quality for the betterment of the economy. No wonder so many kids are educationally handicapped, much of it is because the mother had poor or no prenatal care.

I'm not sure how profits can be reinvested tax-free in America. That seems unfair, and new jobs can be created when only tax-paid income is reinvested. They can't seem to understand that the more the working class earns the more they can afford to purchase from the monied elite. The problem with it is that they would have to allow the working class to feel as entitled as they do. The GOP largely prefers taxing the working class to pay for the welfare of the poorest of society. Trump gave the billionaires a shamefully preferential tax cut, remember!!

Which makes the case the so many illegals should be made legal so they could actually pay taxes. You don't seem to understand that it's people like you who are paying for the welfare costs in this country, and it is the top 1% who gave managed to have that burden shifted to you instead of them.

I've just recently learned how my daughter got to change her 25% credit costs to 5%, and her savings can earn 17% instead of 3%. And it's not because she struggled to keep a full time job and raise an autistic child on her own. Apparently not everyone's dollars have the same value.

Berkshire Hathaway 0.0% annual dividend yield I've never been able to deal with this, but I've been told that in some states the person who buys a second residence gets tax breaks of some description simply for spending money on a second residence. In these times, a young couple would need somehow to have a 6-figure deposit on any first home they'd like to purchase. It's not hard work that makes the most money, it's the money itself that makes the money -- if you've got enough.

That descibes American prosperity gospel perfectly. Alive and well. Evidenced by how an American will scoff at people in more socialist countries for not being so diligent in building riches. Oddly, it's one complaint some people make about Canadians having a "socialist" country -- but statistically Canadians on average have more personal wealth than the average American. And the rich in Canada aren't either hurting or complaining.

It's not hard work that makes the most money, it's the money itself that makes the money -- if you've got enough. It's only proper that money makes money, but in an ideal economy no one would make money from inflation. Why can't the Fed aim for inflation between -2% and +2%? We've had deflation in many products and services over the years and I've yet to be convinced that there's a problem with that. However there is a problem with billionaires making more money from inflation than producing goods and services.

Jesus was laying out what was required to be his disciple, qualifying for his ministry required compliance, and surrendering your possessions allowed a person to give 100%. The Parable of the Talents was different in that it was illustrating "To whom much is given, from him much will be required" (Luke 12:48). Blessings are given for a purpose. jmo
