Nearly 1 in 4 Americans say it’s OK to ‘resort to violence’ to ‘save’ country, poll says"Inclinations toward violence varied greatly by partisan affiliation with 33% of Republicans and 13% of Democrats supporting it."
"Additionally, Americans who believe the unfounded accusations of the 2020 election being rigged against then-President Donald Trump were far more likely to support violence than those who believe the election was fair — 46% to 13%, respectively, according to the poll"Sadly, I don't see the new speaker of the house, Mike Johnson will help reverse this trend.

I suspect he will have the same problems with his fellow GOP members as did McCarthy.

It will take some spine on the part of non MAGA republicans to take back their party because the MAGA republicans don't fight 'politely' like many politicians have been used to. There are some that are saying they will break away and form a new party to get rid of the extremists in their party. At this point I'm not sure that's not what it will take to minimize the damage MAGA politicians can do and are doing to their country. thehill.com/opinion/campaign/4274330-end-of-an-era-its-time-for-the-republicans-to-break-up/

I knew Mike Johnson was involved in the trying to overturn the 2020 elections results, I thought this conversation really points out his danger to democracy in the US.
And then here is the man himself his first speech. He is scary but I will reserve judgment until I see what he is like.

How about a better term, self-defense...works for me...
