I think it is very clear this problem in the US and Canada is not isolated.
I am not old and I can count at least 4 male workers who have been pushed out for either immoral behaviour with adults or crimes against children in the last 15 years. Others, we have no idea, just endless gossip and speculation that tarnishes a mans reputation.
It is high time for the European workers to clear things up, no more people disappearing off a list without an explanation. Here is a recommendation. When the famous list is issued (which should include foreign fields), anyone who has left the work should be included with a note. Retiring/Leaving to work or study/Fired. Anyone fired should have a reason, whether it was doctrine, criminal activity or otherwise. THIS LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY CANNOT CONTINUE.
Upon reflection it is beyond belief that these people who are freely welcomed into our private homes and lives can slip away with no explanation. I know one of those who APPARENTLY admitted guilt against a child only because I heard on the gossip mill. This man was in our home, alone with us as young teenagers, dismissed from the work for inappropriate/illegal behaviour (who knows) and no explanations are provided, even today. NONE. I don't even officially know.
The more I think about it the more angry I am becoming. If it was my school teacher I would want to know. I would want to be informed in order to reflect and consider.

Often we also hear "nerves", and we're surprised because that worker has never shown the usual symptoms for real nerve problems nor has been on medication for nerves. I feel they take cover under this terminology and this is very unfair to those who really might have this reason.
Accountability. Transparency. TRUTH ! !
When a new worker starts out, they're all very excited to break the news. When there is something to be ashamed of, they give many reasons except the TRUTH! And when the truth does finally come out, there is another disappointment to deal with - the fact that you've been led away from the truth, deceived and your trust and confidence eroded.

No reason given on the list for his disappearance. Despite BB’s attempt to say it was JP’s choice not to continue, JP was not quiet about the reason so everyone knew.

A great control mechanism isn't it? It puts workers on notice to not question anything, no matter how ungodly it may be, or a note could appear at their bedside at any time. |
