Sheri01: "We are doing a lot to get help for them and places for people to donate funds for recovery and healing." I think there should be a movement of Friends instead of leaving cash in an envelope for workers, leaving receipts of donations to such places as this. Maybe a bit passive aggressive, but it would be a way of supporting victims and showing workers everyone is aware of the issue and not OK with the status quo. It would be great to see financial support taking place from ALL areas to help survivor recovery and healing. Thankfully I was able to afford the counseling over the years and it was quite costly. However, not all victims have the resources and if the Friends were to contribute even if it's $5 to a fund it all ads up for a good cause. It’s much more guaranteed that the money will actually go to the victims if it’s donated here than if money is given to a worker who will give it to an overseer. This money is tracked and accounted for vs. overseers, oversee everything. |

What hope is there for politicians and lawyers to get involved with this church since assets are hidden in trusts around the globe? It seems like a class action lawsuit would help the victims fight.

It would be great to see funds from The Truth set up for victim compensation for sure! There are so many victim survivors that would benefit from that! |

In the U.S your health insurance through your job or if you are low income, through the government pays for psychiatric help.
I would appreciate it if Advocates For The Truth let us know more in detail about donating money, I dont mind donating but I want to make sure what I am actually donating for and make sure 100% is going for the cause.

No more conventions or flying workers around the world, they are responsible for this mess, its now time to pay for their mess!!

Thanks. 100% of the donations for both Fund Recovery and Little Hooves & Big Hearts goes directly to the victim survivors. AFTT is in the process of getting another donation tab in place that people can donate to. It will go towards victim survivors mental health and assist with covering legal and investigation costs. |

After the Dean Bruer case end March that leaked out on social media, alot of CSA and SA cases have come to light that have been inappropriately handled in your fellowship.There has been many warnings regarding this from member's aswell as non members without much been done about it for decades.I am requesting that the survivor's of these crimes be financially compensated directly via funds from your fellowship.Other churches had to compensate for these atrocities commited and mishandled amongst them.

Even the sister worker’s are being hung out to dry . My heart ❤️ so goes out to them . In addition we do need help for Cynthia and her staff . I believe there is a place on here which supplies where the funds can be given to them . |

WINGS is conscious of the enormous disruption occurring within the fellowship as light is shined on the serious issues of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) cases that have occurred and been mismanaged in the past.
Many are asking "what can we do?"
For more than a decade, WINGS has been advocating for implementation of changes to prevent harm to children. Pockets of improvement have occurred. However, there are still many changes to be implemented.
Historic attitudes and practices have allowed children to be harmed and further harm to survivors who were not believed or supported. Openness and transparency, victims being believed, and support of survivors on their healing journey is critical.
Although fellowship members may not consider they are part of an organisation, people act within the group with a degree of organisation and levels of responsibility. The benefits of being an international group where people freely move between areas, connect with others with the same beliefs and instinctively trust creates risk. Work already done for other organisations can easily be applied across the fellowship to protect children.
This statement is focused on child safety for young people in the fellowship.
Action must be taken now to protect children within the fellowship. We call upon all within the fellowship to advocate in your area for change.
WINGS calls for the following steps to be taken to keep children safe:
Groups must be set up to develop and govern child safety to ensure that there is consistent good practice across the worldwide fellowship.
Involve workers (including sister workers), elders, friends, young people and professionals. Heed external advice. Wisdom and knowledge doesn’t reside solely in overseers.
Policies and processes for child safety must be documented, shared with all members and regularly reviewed.
Codes of conduct for workers must be in place, attested to and monitored for compliance.
Training and education must occur for workers and elders, with compliance monitored and recorded regularly.
Complaint management processes must be transparent and adhered to.
Families and all attendees must be openly informed and regularly communicated with and involved in decisions impacting on children.
Ensure that all regions globally implement these new practices.
Voluntarily examine history and be open about past CSA cases that were not disclosed or were handled inadequately e.g. workers who quietly left and married; or were just shifted to another area; victims who were shame silenced.
Learn from one another globally and share information openly.
Recognise that this is a new normal that must continue forever.
Acknowledge that adult abuse (physical, sexual, emotional) is different to CSA but is also unacceptable.
Simply ask your overseer:
What is our policy to keep children safe?
Can I see the policy and workers code of conduct?
Have all workers had training and police checks and is it being kept up to date?
How do you manage allegations and complaints about abuse?
Are there current attendees in my meeting with CSA allegations?

I think in many cases they just feel untouchable? I think right now would be a very good time to go public. They are getting an unprecedented pressure from the friends right now so a public pressure from the outside might make them legally responsible for the crimes of hiding abusers and transferring them out of areas without telling the friends in the new area to be watchful etc. |

I think they just don't want to hear any negativity regarding the meetings which they view as the truth or way, I don't hope they are covering anything up, they are family and in law family member's, my spouse included.

When this issue surfaced years ago, my father said it was a lie. Finding fault within the church in many minds means shame upon the church. Victim shaming seems to be the norm. Like had been said here many times, there are those who refuse to believe it and those who hide their heads in the sand and hope it all goes away. Sorry for what you are going through. |
