Wally, why would a God prefer to be believed in by faith? That is merely a man made excuse for why God never shows himself to you. Of course Gods need to be believed in by faith? What other option is there? God did show himself in Christ (John 14:9). Proof eliminates the necessity of love and we can't prove our love for God without faith.
Its not a man-made excuse, but a biblical requirement.
What happened after God revealed himself via numerous miracles to the Israelites? Nothing, they continued to rebel against Him. Not to mention Satan & company who know God exist, but still rebelled.
We now know God through Christ, when we reject what he taught, it has nothing to do with proof.
There is zero proof that Jesus was God. In fact I imagine if there was ever such a man he'd be very surprised he's viewed as a god. God if he exists can prove he exists to each of us if he wants us to believe in him. But of course that is never going to happen so those who created the various religious beliefs knew that and had to tell you that you had to just believe on faith and the more able you are to not require proof the more zealous you are because of the strength of you faith. It's a scam imo. Made a lot of people a lot of money and gave a lot of people a lot of power. |

Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58). So no, I doubt he'd be surprised if he was viewed as God. He also healed the sick, calmed the sea, and ascended into heaven, that's proof.
If God personally proved to each of us that he exist, we wouldn't need belief. We are called by faith for a reason, its what separates those who genuinely love him from those who don't. God doesn't just want people to know that He exist, but wants those who won't oppose Him. You wrote elsewhere that God is, "A murderous bloodthirsty and vengeful being that does worse things than his so called creation". Would your opinion change if you had proof that God existed? Could you be a loyal servant to a God that you hate or would you rebel against him? Lucifer and his cohorts fought against God, not because they lacked proof that God exist, but because they didn't like Him. Faith is a test that separates us from demons.
Its no scam, Jesus and the apostles didn't make a lot of money, and people with power aren't beaten and killed.
