Oh ok. I’m never too sure when you call people names. Hey that’s a pretty good analogy. I really like analogies/metaphors. They work really good until they don’t. In this case it works great until you imagine the plane coming in for a landing and you wanting to be really close and - well- need I go on? There may be more to this analogy than suspected! Real given names and surnames are generally not insults with few exceptions last I knew. It may be different in your world though.

I seriously thought a “Trina” might be a derogatory term I’d never heard of. Some names are - for instance a “Wally”. I thought maybe Frank Turek was a worker. How was I to know?

As you get older you find out that true happiness is not in how much you make or how many degrees you have or how big your house is or how fancy your car is. It’s finding peace and joy and a calmness in your life that will soon become the most important thing to you. Your family is what really matters to you, love is what matters to you. Things that are of quality, not quantity.

Everyone has the right to be stupid, it is just that some people abuse the privilege.

If you didn't hear it from the horse's mouth, stop listening to the ass that told you.

Small Kindnesses
By Danusha Laméris
I’ve been thinking about the way, when you walk down a crowded aisle, people pull in their legs to let you by. Or how strangers still say “bless you” when someone sneezes, a leftover from the Bubonic plague. “Don’t die,” we are saying. And sometimes, when you spill lemons from your grocery bag, someone else will help you pick them up. Mostly, we don’t want to harm each other. We want to be handed our cup of coffee hot, and to say thank you to the person handing it. To smile at them and for them to smile back. For the waitress to call us honey when she sets down the bowl of clam chowder, and for the driver in the red pick-up truck to let us pass. We have so little of each other, now. So far from tribe and fire. Only these brief moments of exchange. What if they are the true dwelling of the holy, these fleeting temples we make together when we say, “Here, have my seat,” “Go ahead — you first,” “I like your hat.”

We have been on a fishing trip with a friend who is a smoker. So we are leaving our motel room and he sees various people and he says “he’s a nice guy. He’s from such and such” or “that guy works at such and such. He’s here with his daughter”. On and on. He talks to everybody and it’s so refreshing. I need to take a lesson.

Just being recognized by another human being is evidence that we are a person of consequence.

Why do we rest in peace, better to live in peace as well.

I'm too blessed to be stressed, too grateful to be hateful. When life gets you down, you have too... LOVE a little deeper, LAUGH a little louder, SMILE a little bigger, GIVE a little more, and FORGIVE a little quicker, HOLD the ones you love a little tighter. Because tomorrow is never promised. Author unknown I fear you are missing an aspect of life: Enemies. "You have no enemies, you say? Alas! my friend, the boast is poor; He who has mingled in the fray Of duty, that the brave endure, Must have made foes! If you have none, Small is the work that you have done. You've hit no traitor on the hip, You've dashed no cup from perjured lip, You've never turned the wrong to right, You've been a coward in the fight." Charles Mackay

YOU can't start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.

Once you've matured you will realise that silence is more important than proving a point.

A PERSON'S MOST USEFUL ASSET IS NOT THE HEAD FULL OF KNOWLEDGE BUT A HEART FULL OF LOVE. AN EAR READY TO LISTEN AND A HAND WILLING TO HELP !

The strongest people make time to help others, even if they're struggling with their own personal demons.

"When you talk about people who do things that others perceive as really courageous, most of the time what motivates them is not the risk .. of what might happen, but what's the importance of what it is you're trying to achieve? [It's] not the consequences of doing a thing as much as the consequences of not doing it." - Anita Hill, attorney, professor

I'm just human, I have weaknesses, I make mistakes, and I experience sadness; but I learn from all these things to make me a better person.

We don't have to engage in grand , heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.

I like this. Was reading it today.
We live on through others: The Reform Jewish prayerbook expresses this idea through the metaphor of a leaf and a tree. A leaf drops to the ground, but it nourishes the soil so more plants and trees spring up. The same is true in our lives. We nourish the future through the influence we have on those who follow us. It can happen in unimaginable ways.
From novelist Dara Horn:

I've been riding hard for three days And I can't turn back now They sentenced me to hang But I slipped away somehow Hell, I'm the best there is And that's all you need to know Cause I've got outlaw blood And I rest this weary soul
And I'm trying to cross the border Before the sun sets down tonight If I keep on riding hard I'll be a free man come daylight Hell, I'm the best there is And that's what I hear them say But I guess I always knew That I'd pay my debt someday
They found me in a little town Just outside of Mexico I was sold out by a friend For a handful of pesos And anyone can tell you My guns they were not drawn I was murdered down in cold blood And left to die at dawn
I've been gone 100 years now But it seems like yesterday That the lawman shot me in the dark Stole my life away Hell, I'm the best that ever lived I'm a legend among men Now every time that pistol fires A legend rides again
They found me in a little town Just outside of Mexico What happened there that night No one will ever know But anyone can tell you That I was unarmed And anyone can tell you That I left that night unharmed
