slate.com/news-and-politics/2021/10/haiti-kidnapping-american-missionaries-port-au-prince-400-mawozo.htmlAn interview with a reporter who lives in and covers Haiti. Very telling. Apparently, Haitian gangs can now freely capture US Amish and Mennonite missionaries, with little to no fear of reprisals from the US government. A slightly different world from the world when one stern warning from the President could stop a looney NK dictator from firing his rockets. Now, the Taliban and Haitian gangs fear nothing. But hey, bad-orange man gone, right?

That actually puzzled me - how is it that they don't get at least the equal treatment of court dates and catch/ release the other migrants get? Are they too dark skinned for Mr "if you don't vote for me, you ain't black" Biden? It seems like they are more eligible for refugee status than many others crossing.

They've been deporting Haitians for decades. The officials don't have to consult with the president before they deport someone. And so far the courts have not allowed Biden to change some of the immigrant restrictions Trump put in place, not that I think that would make much of a difference. You do realize that the plan really is to "help refugees escape their horror, but we don't want them here diluting our enlightened culture."

You do realize that the plan really is to "help refugees escape their horror, but we don't want them here diluting our enlightened culture." I think there's probably that dynamic, seemingly more overt with the right but nested throughout all. Eventually, minority groups will realize that many the democrats are really Dixiecrats who see them as obligated servants to the Democrat vote but not as equals. I would've thought after Obama deported more illegal immigrants than his 3 predecessors combined, Hispanic voters would've woken up a bit. haitiantimes.com/2020/11/03/haitian-americans-head-to-the-polls-on-election-day-fraught-with-tension/This Haitian Times article details Biden's emphasis of pandering to Haitians in Florida due to the possibility of turning it Blue for him. "That’s why the Biden campaign actively courted them this year, with Creole-language media ads and even a visit to Little Haiti by the nominee." It worked. A Haitian-American Biden voter: “I voted for Biden because he is for the working family, he understands people, he’s not a jerk, and he understands racism,” said Monette Respide, of Elmont, New York. “Even though Trump stands for making money, we need someone who understands us and who can represent America and not white supremacy.” Of course, I had to look up the flying of Haitians back to Haiti after you mentioned it. Little reporting of such things now Trump is gone. The Republicans have their own issues. Next KKK rally will help remind us of some of their nut-jobs I suppose.

Do you think Haitian Americans needed much courting to not vote for Trump? They know what he meant by "$hit-hole" countries. Frankly, there aren't that many Haitians in the US that are citizens anyway, so they're not much of a voting bloc, except maybe it big red-neck states.

No doubt - I think Biden campaigning on FL was kind of like Loyd in Dumb and Dumber- "so you're saying there's a chance".

I would expect a "holy man" who has fleeced his flock to the tune of $200 million+ to be familiar with how to make a pact with the devil. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays devils advocate pro bono.
