Good for you Dmg, it does lift the Spirit as we see the beauty around us. Nature can be our God, enjoying what has been provided for us now, not worrying about the unknown. Thanks, Redback..
Please keep reminding us of that will you?
I am sitting here right now with my shoulders getting tighter all the time and I should know better by now.

Yesterday was a wonderful day!
I had to take a short drive of about 30 miles to another town here in the mid-west to get my second vaccine dose.
It was a sunny day -the redbud trees & other wild fruit trees were in bloom and I thought, "I think I will to just meander though the country on the older roads on the trip back."
So I did.
I can't explain why but for some reason a whole shoulder load of weariness and cares of life dropped right off my shoulders.
Maybe I should do that more often. What vaccine did you get? My son and I got Pfizer and we both become very ill for several days as have others I know who got the Pfizer vaccine. I sure hope any boosters aren't as bad.

With the first shot, I really had forgotten that there might be a reaction so when I was so exhausted the next day, -I thought it was my usual decline in stamina due to aging and was actually a little depressed thinking it had gotten so much in such a short time.
So, when it did occur to me that it might be due to he vaccine, I was glad it wasn't due to age creeping up faster!

Understand, that you own nothing in this world. Everything surrounding you is only temporary. Only the love you have in your heart will remain forever.

One of my sisters got a cough right after her first shot, then flu like symptoms the next week, vomiting and all... After her second shot (Moderna), she had a horrible hacking cough for days.
That's when I decided to wait for the J&J vaccine, but now they're having problems (blood clots) from that. Now I'm in limbo. What to do, what to do?

Us oldies are made tough Dmg, like you no problems, will get second shot in June. Up to 70% are having some sort of reaction to a Covid shot. It has to do with the way your immune system works, no big deal really.

Life is too short to start your day with broken pieces of yesterday, it will definitely destroy your wonderful today and ruin your great tomorrow.

Get the shot. Surely it's better than dying from the disease. I had covid twice before getting the vaccine. Covid is DEFINITELY worse.

I wasn't terribly concerned with getting COVID if the world revolved around me, but since it doesn't seem to, the main reason I got the vaccine was to shield other people from me inadvertently spreading it to them. There is much unknown about the virus and disease itself still. A good thought for the end of the day - I have this quote posted outside my office door : “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” – Mark Twain

I guess that's too high a risk for you. Study shows vaccines carry much lower risk of blood clots than COVID-19The data showed that about 4 in every 1 million people who get the American-made vaccines experience cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), or blood clots in the brain. With the AstraZeneca vaccine, which works in a different way and is similar to the Johnson & Johnson shot, the research showed an incidence rate of about 5 in every 1 million. That equates to a risk of CVT 10-times greater for people who catch the coronavirus than for those who get the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, and 8-times greater for those given the AstraZeneca shot.

Redback , you have been my beacon lately . Others on here as well . The fact you watched mom’s funeral is just TOTALLY BEAUTIFUL ! Such kindness Thanks to all who did ! She would still remain humble Crying again ! Working through this as best as we can . I couldn’t be more proud of my last child fighting addiction and winning . We traded places , she kept me safe and worked diligently . Gotta love that . However Texas will start the healing quicker . My zen and my loving bestie She has walked every step with me in spirit and no matter the time when I need her she always answer’s my calls . So healing in Texas and watching my nephew wed ! Can it get better . Yes if I chose that .

These guys have good thoughts at the end of the day, by unloading all their troubles onto a higher power
No troubles for these look-a-likes either

Never grow up, keep that childlike curiosity, being an adult is too burdensome.

Never grow up, keep that childlike curiosity, being an adult is too burdensome. Exactly, -"being an adult is too burdensome."
That is why people have created a god as a father figure to keep from growing up & being responsible as adults for their own actions .

I spent most of last week fighting with the IRS and State of IL... Seven hours on the phone, mostly on hold... So no good thoughts at the end of the day Maybe I'll try driving on back roads through the country side tomorrow and see if that helps
Settled with the State of Illinois for just $1200, now I just need to deal with the Internal Revenue Service. Can't have "Good Thoughts At The End Of The Day" until all of the stress and anxiety they're causing me is gone..God I hate government with a passion! I feel like I just got robbed.

I don't run from trouble, I prefer to deal with it head-on.
Your love affair with government is because they're sending you money every month, my hate for government is because they're emptying my pockets every month.
Surely you can relate to the difference, even if you've never experience getting sucked dry for money that you don't owe.

Pardon me for butting in but speaking for myself... I wouldn't say I have a love affair with government, but I do value its role in protecting us from harm whether it be foreign adversaries, fellow-citizens who are bad actors, or predatory capitalism. And I appreciate its role in providing a social safety net for those who need it. And none of that is because they're sending me money every month. Although they did send me a nice check in March-- but that was only because they decided I had paid too much tax for 2020.
