Wally be warned, the friends are instructed NOT to give the phone number out to any one.
These meetings are strictly secret 2x2 business, not to be divulged to the enemy.

Wally be careful of Nathan, he could be a security risk. Think he does a bit of zooming in his spare time.

55 workers? Is this the last hurrah? Where will all the workers go if there are no more ACTUAL meetings....you know, where you actually MEET? Still stay in the homes of friends? Can foresee there being a big changes ahead if things don’t open up.

Just as long as it's "Friends Only". No sense inflicting that on innocent bystanders.
Can you get 8 meetings out of the OT, sower/seed parable, and Paul's non-doctrinal opinions?
How will everyone know who's sitting up front?

The “life of Riley” is hypocrisy when many in the church are struggling under great loads of debt and illnesses and heavy burdens. Time to roll up our sleeves and pitch in when there’s opportunity. Heard a worker say not long ago that he finds it hard to reach out to people that are difficult to deal with in the church. Human nature doesn’t want to labour for THOSE (lost) sheep/souls. That’s not Jesus.

Scriptures don’t even support that but religion does.

Why bother when prayer is supposed to be so powerful? Exactly. Don’t help anyone. Just pray. Scriptures don’t even support that but religion does. It helps the person praying to justify the transfer of responsibility from themselves to God. In one of our last Sunday am meetings, I spoke about how useless and hollow prayer was if we were unwilling to take action ourselves. An extremely dogmatic and "wise" 2x2 pillar spoke after this about how prayer was powerful, and how we can't do anything on our own, but we must just pray and let God do the rest. We had the overseer, Leroy S, in that meeting, and he had the "word in season". He quoted the verse that says (in essence) 'if you know to do good, and don't do it, it is a sin'. I appreciated his comment.

Jas_5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I don't quite get that exclusivity? If the goal is to spread the gospel, I would think that any church would welcome anyone who wanted to listen in? Spreading the Word shouldn't be secret, but open to the public. jmo

Well, it's a "say one thing, but do another" sort of thing. Somehow it's ok when you're a part of it.

I know a lady who tried a couple of times to profess, and each time she was told by the workers that they had no permission to le her profess. Finally she professed at convention, and she was told the same thing. So she asked why, and before the convention was over they were unable to find any worker who knew where the directive came from, so they told her she was okay, they would recognize her profession that time.
