I don't know how many of u knew or met my brother, Graham Adams, who was in the work here in South Africa. He suffered a fatal heart attack in the dining hall of the Cape Town convention grounds this afternoon. Cape 2 convention which would have been this weekend had been cancelled cos of the Corona virus. He was in charge of these 2 conventions so were busy packing up. He was 54 yrs old.

Dear brothers and Sisters, It is with immense heartache that I convey this message to you today. Our dear brother Graham Adams passed away at 14h55 at the Cape Convention grounds. He was not well this morning and we asked Julian to take him to the Durbanville Mediclinic hospital. I was part of the group of workers that left for the meetings on the West Coast soon afterwards. He called me later to say that it was just a “tummy upset.” We were in touch again later and he mentioned that he had returned to the grounds and was resting. He was in conversation with Wyngrove Carter when he suddenly collapsed. All efforts to resuscitate him were in vain.
We share this earthly loss among us together… I clearly remember his beautiful and clear message at Cape 1….”in His will be shall but gain not loss…” (see below). He leaves behind him a clear example pointing to the footsteps of “Our Lord Jesus,” as we heard him say a number of times when he spoke to us at convention…. We hope to be in touch further on. your brother, A.

Hymn 259
Graham Adams
Mark 8 v36 'For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?
Spiritual Investment
No one will make a natural investment and expect to lose, we want to gain not lose. In His will, we can only gain, not lose. We heard that the main event of our existence is eternity, even if we lose in this life, may we at any cost not lose eternal life. 'Not my will but thine be done' - Jesus may be for the first time uttered these words on the mount of Olives, but it was evident how he conducted His life till then.. in His Father's will. God's blessing for us, not my will be done but His. Abraham would have died a miserable old man if had to say 'No' to God's will. The will of God will mean victory for us. Sad that Job's wife did not understand. We will never lose if we have the mind of Christ. We will never lose when have brotherly love. Never lose when we die to self. Never lose when we learn to pray. Israel failed to a minor enemy. Joshua understood why they lost the battle. The way Hannah prayed, God showed her what to do, she understood. Get to the place of desperate prayer. We do not know what the future holds, the immediate future. But, we want to trust His answer He will give. Why must we always pray? Because Jesus our example always prayed. We never lose when we submit. Adam and Eve did not submit, disobeyed and lost their place in the garden. We never lose when we humble ourselves. Abraham and Lot. Abraham willing to be the least. Lot chose with his human eye, did not lift his eyes high enough. We trust our human reasoning, that we might lose when we take the lowly place. Moses had a wonderful spirit of acceptance. Meekness means we submit to God's will, without resentment. Never lose when we are meek. Never lose when we forgive, because He forgave. It was not a problem for Joseph to forgive his brothers when he met them after all the years, he had forgiven them long ago. Otherwise, Joseph would have lost liberty with God. Jesus forgave, even when no apology was given. The Kingdom will suffer loss when we do not forgive. God wants to help profit, gain spiritually. Think of what Jesus was, a living offering. We will lose when we do not offer our best. Those that buried Jesus understood, to give their best.
