i don't think revelation/understanding is adding to the word... I think it does mean just that. If the bible doesn't say it you are told not to add to the bible. So revelation that says something different from the bible would be exactly that wouldn't it? that just covers the book of revelation....

They sure didn't have a lot of books put in the Bible. John the apostle was talking about the prophecies were written in the book of Revelation around 95 A.D. NOT the BIBLE! The Bible did not started until the 4th century.

The RCC only put what they wanted people to believe in their bible. There are hundreds of documents that they didn't allow for various reasons. Some of them were far to supportive of the equality of the genders. That's a big no no for Christians. Eve was a scapegoat and women are supposed to be subservient so they couldn't very well put those gospels in their bible.

Bible is not a very balanced document, too much male influence. Think this has caused a lot of the problems in our society. The input of Women does help to temper things. My Wife always brings me into line, and that is a good thing. Woman are not driven by testosterone, means they are more moderate.

It looks like Jesus wasn't as anti women being leaders as the RCC

To give credit where credit is due, before they had the vote in most democracies women were accepted in the work and had a part in fellowship meetings.

That is one thing I liked about the Friends and Workers group. Women were allowed to be workers. Not Overseers but at least recognized as capable of preaching.

It's a collection of ancient documents. A trinitarian Catholic Bishop by the name of Athanasius was the first to list the 27 books of the New Testament in 369 AD. He came up with the word "Canonised" to describe his compilation.

This is true. What I am surprised by is that the Protestants accepted only the books the RCC compiled.
