Because one poster asked another poster his or her understanding of how the Spirit works does not mean that one poster has not had the Spirit working in his or her life duh.

"So" What do you think the written Word is for? To collect dust like many truthers do, until it is time to put together a quicky testimony for Sunday? You read it regularly, you pray about it...you apply it. Pretty simple. Many "truthers" can equate to one or a couple, one being TA, and who else?

"the emptying out of our will and spirit so the Spirit of God can fit into our lives" Where is this in scripture? Is this similar to the nasty teaching of the workers to our parents that they should beat the crap out of their kids and call it beating their own will out of them so the spirit of God has room? I believe the verses that are usually quoted say something like, "I must decrease so the Lord can increase". Where are they? Forgive me for not looking it up right now E

Hi, Edy. The verse you are looking for is: Jhn 3:30 He must increase, but I [must] decrease.
The Greek order of verbage puts MUST with His increase, and only leaves implication of it with decrease. One thing I have noted is the order of increase/decrease. When we seek HIS increase, can we do anything but decrease? I think not, thus the MUST.
Once again, for me, it is a matter of not getting the cart before the horse.
Please greet Rick for me, I may be having some improvement with the shakes by very careful blood sugar control. If I do, you know what I will be doing ASAP! You two are constantly in my prayers of thankfulness.
Kindest regards as always!

Dear Dennis, Yes, I know what you will be doing, and Rick will value the finished project to his dying day -- I guarantee it! I will pass along your post to Rick this evening. Love in Him, Edy

Jesus didn't 'fit in'.

Amen. It's pretty simple. Give it try, prayhard. I did. God lead me to know by the power of the words of scripture that I was to NOT be in bondage to legalism, nor affiliate with an organization that promotes it. I listened and obeyed very well, thank you. I lost a love, but it was worth it to not be under the rule of a group that promotes man and not the real Christ Jesus. Dear "Prayhard", You say that you lost a love....I think I have heard that somewhere before....., BUT, I believe with all my heart that TRUE LOVE, never dies. It takes on different shades, shapes, meanings and places. But it still resides there somewhere deep in the deepest parts of our hearts. TRUE love, that is. DIVINE LOVE. And divine love is not of the physical, although it can manifest that way. But the physical is not lasting; only temporary. So, if one loses the physical part of a love, there is consolation in knowing that the spiritual will always be there, if it was TRUE, to begin with. So, sometimes, yes, we do have to go back to the beginning to find the answers to the questions in the heart. But I would be very very wary about getting stuck on the past, for that is selfish to think only about what might have been for your OWN self. What about the others, both then and now.
