Katie has gone this week to annual DAR Regent convention. I tried to cool a steak, forgot it, fell asleep! Ugh!
My two little ones woke me up with incessant barking, and I woke choking and coughing! Now house almost aired out, dogs will not leave my side. Sure value these little foxes. Chest pain now as I try to relax. Ugh! some more!

I owe my husband's being alive and/or unhurt when he fell asleep at the wheel while driving our motor home. His dog noticed he was off the road and started barking, woke him up just in time to steer away from the telephone pole straight in his path. Usually she sleeps on the floor the whole journey waking up when the engine turns off. Whatever got her attention that day saved his life or at least from getting hurt. When you look at the tracks through the ditch he came inches from hitting that pole. Stay safe Dennis. So glad you have your little helpers!

It is a Hustler diesel with 6’ wide 3 blade mower on the front and full cab, 50 hp. A couple months ago I could still barely run it, no longer, but....?
Yes, it is a healthy mower necessary on this view hillside. With knobby ridge tires it climbs almost like a goat. Front yard finished tomorrow he will be beginning on the front hillside acreage, after tires. If desire to operate it myself counts, then maybe some future date, wistful sigh...

This is a diiesel... Rare, could only find one used in the entire nation, owned by the city of Denver. Hustler told me “BUY it!” So we did!
Wanna see a picture? If so, I will take one and post it here....

Nope, Rat, not a Kalwasaki. Manual says Kubota or Ford engine. Have I visually checked it? No, unable physically to do that as yet, sure ran great today, and the operator I hired said, “Wow! That sure is one powerful machine! It is super fast, & mowed through 12 to 18” high grass as if not even there!” He mowed over it twice to mulch it well for me. It was a one owner machine—supposedly the City of Denver Colorado.
Can’t find the HP actually recorded in the Hustler 4600 72” with full enclosed cab Manual that I bought, lots of pictures though. Where can we confirm the HP? I did not even think I needed to do that. My operator is an op/mech and will start on the 2.5 acre hillside out front between house and county road tomorrow. He mowed the half acre around the house today, + sides of the upper drive way in just minutes. Anyway, he really likes it, first time he ever operated one. Now wants to rent it, but I am not so keen on that idea!
Wish you lived closer, would have you over to check it out and give it a try.... feel free to correct or enlighten me. I just went looking for the most for the money, and this is what I found. If I have been told wrong, well,... not the first time!
have asked admin to move this to the proper place... was pretty confused when I started it the other night. sorry.

Front yard finished tomorrow he will be beginning on the front hillside acreage, after tires. If desire to operate it myself counts, then maybe some future date, wistful sigh... Our dairy farm was similar. The acreages were in tiers. We'd bought a Ford tractor. But it was too puny to take those steep climbs. So we got an Italian made tractor that pivoted in the middle just in front of the seat. That dude did climb a tree and ended up crushing my husband's arm between two trees. He was watching the brush hog and the front had pivoted in direction if the tier but trees were in it's way, so climb them seemed to be what he was asking it to do. Then a friend borrowed that tractor and tried mowing his pond bank and the dude flipped backward and become water logged. We went to friend's house to see if we could rescue the tractor. My husband waded out to the front of the tractor and climbed over the engine into the seat which was underwater. He reached under the wheel turned the key on, the motor started and climb right out of the water. Never showed any damage though he did drain the gas tank and put new gas and STP to dry the rest of water out.

Wow, STD! Grin, and I thought being hit by an uninsured drunk at 55 mph was bad!
Wally, We have carefully considered it, not wise economically yet. Thanks for caring enough to suggest it.

have asked admin to move this to the proper place... was pretty confused when I started it the other night. sorry. It was just the devil working with my idle hands! And my idle curiosity. I don't think engines usually have HP lisred since, depending on use, the resulting HP could be different. Brake hoursepower is the amount of force that would be required to stop the rotating shaft while wheel hourspower os the power available where the rubber meets the road. Sounds like you have a Kubota engine with enough power to mow your property and several others! Renting it out does not seem to be a bad idea. I believe it has an engine clock that you could use to determine the use/price. Just make sure the maintenance is followed and there are records to back it up.

Thank you, Rational. Not to worry, I have been learning in this forum just how likely I am in error, making me super sensitive to where I may be in error; how badly and to what extent! Some have implied it has been my intent to deceive. My only redemption? To make as sure as possible every word posted here is absolutely accurate!
Some people simply cannot believe anyone like me could experience what I have in life, including paying for such huge uninsured medical bills! That too is their right, and thus now I attempt to supply whatever proof I can, which often, as in this case regarding HP, I simply cannot, having trustfully taken the word of others. I really do wish we knew each other in real life, as I do have high respect for your knowledge. I suspect if we were all personally acquainted you all might have considerably more for me as well.
Thank you, too, Rational, for your PM to me.

Hustler mowers hail from Kansas. If you fly into the Wichita airport you'll see a display of Hustler mowers in the lobby.

Hustler mowers hail from Kansas. If you fly into the Wichita airport you'll see a display of Hustler mowers in the lobby. Yep, correct. From manuals I am discovering The diesels are Cummins Kubota ( or vice versa) the Gas models are Ford New Holland. Manual for our beast shows two Diesel engines, front and rear which may explain the HP discrepancy. One thing to be certain it is a powerful, well maintained, beast! Perfect for mowing our hillside pasture, until I can engineer the fencing for livestock. Working on front door porch and house access ramp. People who see what we are getting marvel at the design done right here in my confine! In another year or two this will be a grand home for anyone disabled once I am dead and gone! Always wanted to leave this world a better place for my sojourn here. Maybe someday as it completes I can post pictures here if any are interested. Not to leave Katie out, she refines my ideas, and I hers! though she has much to often take her away!
