I GOOGLED "William Irvine was a Mason". I was surprised to find where William Irvine was a Mason his whole life. I Also read about how he was a member of the FAITH MISSION in Scotland before he started the truth, and that the FAITH MISSION had meetings in the home, gosple meetings, special meetings, and convention, and that William Irvine got these concepts for starting the "Truth." I also read that William Irvine called the "Truth" his "EXPERIMENT." There is an old photo on there of William Irvine, Jack Carrol, and George Walker. Does the FAITH MISSION still exist in Scotand or anywhere else? If so, I want to go once and see what's up.

Thanks Cheri. I'm just curious how similar their services still are to the truth?? Did you attend any of their church services? Also, was their
"church" conducted in a church building or someone's home ... like they do in the truth?

Now, they have a Bible seminary or bible college to train preachers. No more apostolic ministry, going two and two to train their preachers. Or going in FAITH that God will provide.

They are not a church or sect - they are an evangelistic mission...do not baptize or serve emblems. Their members go to various churches of their choice. They do hold evening prayer union mtgs once a week. For more info re FM, read: Preserving the Truth, Chapter 4

I don't imagine it has any connection to the 2x2 group being called the Truth eventually. Do you know if it was instrumental Cherie?

I noticed the FAITH MISSION I saw when I googled "FAITH MISSION" have a church as did the WALDENSES I read about online. I was surprised to see that the WALDENSES date back to early 1400's ... I wonder if the WALDENES met in church buildings back then? Does anyone know where I may obtain a copy of the book entitled THE PILGRIM CHURCH?

The Faith Mission Wm Irvine was a minister with does not have a church and is not a church. They are a mission with HQ in Edinburgh, Scotland and hold some conventions.
There could be some other churches named "Faith Mission" in this world tho.
If the Waldenses went back to Jesus' ministry on earth--shouldnt the 2x2s had merged with them? The Waldenses were around first.

www.faithmission.org/Here is a link to the Faith Mission which has a good bit on it. They have Christian bookshops in Northern Ireland. In the South of Ireland, they have at least two purpose built camp centres. There used to be a convention near here (Southern Ireland) on a farm, but health and safety regulations required that that came to a close. The new centre runs Christian summer camps for children. A couple live in a house near the centre, and they run children's clubs weekly in different locations (church halls) and sometimes Ladies Groups or they will host speakers and events.
