Oh my goodness, Agree! I TOTALLY agree with your post:
"I agree, this board can be depressing at times. What we have here are lots of people with lots of opinions, lots of psuedo-knowledge, and lots of backgrounds. It's like the old Roman days when men sat around and discussed all manner of "deep" philosophical and religious ideas. When it's all said and done, you're left with an empty bag of nothing, because all of the arguments are unprovable. Like others have said, it's really all about faith. And, who's to say your faith is better (or worse) than my faith? That is the great mystery of life, and I too am still searching for "real" answers beyond the discourse here, my upbringing, and the boundaries of my "box." It truly is about a personal relationship with God--and nobody else on earth can tell you if you have that or not, although many (here and elsewhere) would like to believe they DO have that power... "
and feel it could very well be the LAST post prior to putting this message board to rest!
Many of us who has posted here for any length of time find we need to take a break from it just to keep our sanity!
Inevitably, we find ourselves back, once again, and so the story goes.
I 'm leaving this board again and likely will NOT return this time. The farther I go on in my own spiritual journey, the more I find I have little to nothing in common with most exes who have gone from 2x2-ism into traditional christianity which to me, can be as cult-ish as the 2x2 way. There are many ex 2x2's who post here who are as quick to judge and stick their heads in the sand as 2x2's are. That said, I would ask them, 'don't you know that you have simply jumped from the frying pan into the fire?'
Every individual has his own way of dealing with life. It's based on one's upbringing, one's present set of circumstances, etc. It may sound wishy washy and lame but whatever faith paradigm works to bring a person peace and a sense of sanity, fine, LET HIM BE!
Ponder the following:
'the forester seldom sees the forest because he's too busy looking at the trees, which is to say that a specialist confronted by an enigma in his field is no more likely to find the explanation than an open minded generalist because HE WON'T CLIMB THE FENCE & SNOOP AROUND IN ADJACENT PASTURES. HE'S SHACKLED BY THE DOGMAS OF HIS EXPERTISE'.
I feel I'm about the only alternative thinker on this board (at least one who posts periodically) and, judging by the amount of responses to my posts (very few, if any!) I won't be missed.
I wish you all well and happy trails in your spiritual journey!
