I was wondering if anyone would like me to post some of the poems I have that my aunt wrote over the years. She professed when she was 8 years old through John and Annie Mcleatous (both passed on now so I think it's okay to post their names). If not I will remove them Admin. She was in her 90's when she passed away and still professing. So, let me know if you would like to hear her thoughts and poems. I think some would enjoy them here.

Here is an example of one: She loved flowers so some of her poems are about comparison to them.
Lovely blossoms we find can sometimes convey Our feelings much better than words we could say. Their beauty has a language expressing our love and carries the message that we're thinking of
Unselfish thoughts can brighten hours Just like the beauty of lovely flowers Living for others with hearts fond and true Can give us happiness ever new.
We notice stars are clear and bright Upon the very darkest night And lovely flowers of purest white Show best with colors dark as night So will our lives as Christians, too, Stand out by what they say and do, When bitter trials test them sore Their spirit stands out all the more With courage, mercy, patience, love Which is the wisdom from above.

Beautiful Lilies, God's lovely gift to us
I'm glad that God created flowers and caused the rain to fall in showers Because these speak in wonderful ways that teach me lessons all my days. Lessons that speak of beauty and grace, showers of blessing that can erase My failures and sins, so I'll be washed. The beauty of spirit won't be lost.
As pure as the lilies I would be and kept by grace, from sin set free Lovely in spirit, gentle and kind as Christ my Lord... and with my mind So centered on things that feed my soul that God can be in full control Of motives behind each word and deed; that always seeing the help I need I would take corrections God would give that self won't hinder the life I live.

My Heart's Deep Desire
As people observe my life each day and listen to all the words I say The tone of my voice and thoughts expressed: to glorify God and every test That I go through will prove to all that the Holy Spirit directs in all No greater blessing than this I seek than to be always humble and meek. So God can use me in several ways to honor Him and give Him praise For the power He gives to set me free from human nature that hinders me From showing His grace in daily life by victories won midst sin and strife.
Lovely thoughts like bouquets bright can cheer us on our way If we but cast aside the weeds and gather flowers each day. Purest thoughts, like lovely flowers, can give us joy untold If we just throw the wrong aside and what is best we hold.

Here is one that she wrote to the people where she went for Wednesday night bible study.
I love your home, so dear it is to me On Wednesday night, that where I want to be Tis peaceful and prepared for all who come To hear some precious things ... a quiet home Where we can rest, relax and be restored. In fellowship with brethren and the Lord... A hallowed hour when all our daily cares Are left behind, when each one humbly shares, With others there, some thoughts that give us bread; correction, too, from Scriptures we have read.
That quiet hour we value more and more A time when spiritual gems we get and store A resting place along the way when we Are given thoughts which spur us on to be More like the One who lived for us and gave Himself in sacrifice our souls to save; Who gives us power the Scriptures to fulfill, Who searches hearts and gives us hope; our will Is bent anew...our purpose to obey The still small voice that speaks to us each day Is strengthened. Thus we leave refreshed and glad With grace for future days, the bright and sad, Assured that everything works for our best That we may grow and profit by each test. How good that later years can teach us things That in our youth we didn't learn. God brings us through experiences that give us light, Reveling truths that were beyond our sight.
On looking back ten years since I first came To this fair city, more things than I can name Have happened, but some memories remained. Refreshing still to me as cooling rain; Things vivid clear that I shall not forget. Some memories so dear of times I met With you and other brethren week by week, Recalling these, I long to be more meek And humble in God's sight that he many teach More of his blessed will that I may reach The goal at last with confidence and joy Refined as gold, by fire without alloy.
