Quote - "And the Gospel has to stand on its own merits, otherwise you attract the wrong people with wrong motives
Can you give an example of what type of people would be wrong, and should not have a chance to listen to the gospel message? Perhaps show which people in the bible Jesus turned away?"
What type? People who wouldn't respond to the Gospel. Not have a chance? Those who refused to come and listen. Which people Jesus turned away? Those who came looking for him after the feeding of the five thousand. He offered them nothing, evaded their questions and gave them "hard sayings" He knew they wouldn't accept. Some see the Gospel merely as feeding the hungry with bread and healing the sick. The other side of the coin, the bearing of His cross, is the part most don't want to hear.
It seems that Bert feels he can tell who will respond to the Gospel & who won't !!

I never said that. But certainly, Jesus knew from the beginning who would respond to him.

I don't think Jesus worried too much about wrong people with wrong motives. Didn't he prefer the wheat and tares to grow together? But yes, he certainly spoke the truth and didn't worry too much about who he offended.

Jesus died that ALL men have hope, not just those that WE think respond to the Gospel ! do those who don't/never respond to the Gospel/Christ have hope? I don't believe we as humans, can answer that Virgo ! Unless we think we are God ! I am sure plenty of people would have thought the thief on the cross had no hope !

God's thoughts are not our thoughts. Thank goodness for that. Would any of us have any hope if it was left to certain people on this board?
