It's not in the Bible, so it's not true. She's hiding somewhere in the bushes. But it would be a good research topic, wouldn't it? Bob ~ According to Wiki, Lilith was part of the Sumerian legend relating to Adam's first wife, to make up for the discrepancy found between Genesis 1 and 2, in relation to Eve later coming from his rib cage and not the same earth as Adam.
Now if I may speculate. Fundamentalists could conjure up the explanation that Lilith was one of the Neanderthals who was about to pollute the perfectly created Adam -- so God made Eve directly from Adam's flesh. It would make a great theological compromise with science, wouldn't it?

The first family was dysfunctional; murder, incest, demon control, ... And hard up for Neanderthal love. Well, they probably didn't have the problem of Eve's children wanting to marry their half-siblings -- Lilith refused to "be on the bottom".

I suppose it might be that Lilith and Eve were the "first" multi-wife.....examples? OR perhaps there were other wives unknown and perhaps a concubine or harem! I've always wondered why God allowed man to have more then one wife and a concubine as well! For it says that man was to leave his parents and cleave unto his wife...this being in the singular and they become "one flesh"...wouldn't it be hard for multi-wives to become "one flesh" with one man? Consider 'one flesh' to be a euphemism and you will see the possibilities for any individual to become 'one flesh' with any number of willing individuals! It happens all the time. In fact, it is happening right now! And a bit of crazy glue can now "cement" the (a-hem) merger.

No. You answered before I made that statement. You are right bubbles. I apologize. I didn't mean to upstage you in any way. A lot of times other people answer posts not directed at them.
My answer was really just a facetious comment!

Bob ~ You do know, I presume, that Lilith has evil connotations associated with her and she's considered more of a corrupting influence ~ somewhat like an evil woman of sorts and becomes associated with the queen of demons. So, if she was Adam's first wife, she definitely lacked somewhat in the area of perfection, so perhaps that's why Eve was taken later from Adam's rib cage to keep the perfect image of God's creation intact? Anyway, that major discrepancy right in the beginning of Genesis along with some errors in the creation sequence of things makes you wonder just a little bit about the accuracy of the storyline, too?

Now after all this discrepancy involved in the original creation story of mankind, I had to go and look up those verses that relate to this story. Here's what I found. Could it be that Adam really didn't have any wife but Eve and the second account is just the first account being explained in greater detail? However, there still remains the problem with Lelith, who is also part of Sumerian folklore in relation to this creation story and her account is found in the Jewish Talmud. Honestly, what gives here? This is downright confusing!
Genesis 1:26-28
1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 2:18-25
2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

I think this is the reason some people don't want us looking into anything. Do they really believe we can't investigate such things without losing our mind over it? Some people don't want their kids to read such things as Jack in the Beanstock for fear they will think it's all true. Heck, I never believed Santa Claus was real. I did thoroughly enjoy Bartholomew's 1000 hats, though.

Kind of like an ape and I suppose it was really talking about where mankind came from....

I was wondering "where", then kind of wondering "who"...I might want in that action? Nah, it'd be too big a risk and change for me! ::) A quick search for answers gives worldwide estimates from 6 to 45 million people at any time! A sample of what I found with the quick search: People in steady relationships have sex 2 times a week on average. People not in steady relationships have sex once a week on average (these aren't that far-off from actual survey results), starting at age 20 and going to age 75 (when they, on average, die). Let's say that half the world is in a steady relationship and half not (complete WAG). Each act of sex takes 1 hour. So, the average person is having sex 1.5 hours a week for 55/75 of their life, or a lifetime average of 1.1 hours a week.
There are 168 hours in a week, so about 1/150 people are having sex at any given time. The global population is 6.7 billion, so there are about 45 million people engaged in sex at any given point in time.

DMG I percieve that at the end of life you are fighting for recognition and praise that you never recieved elsewhere perhaps even true for some of the others you mention . I feel and I maybe wrong that youve placed Snow on the wrong list. In any case seems you want to kick sand and ridicule those of use who are in love with Jesus. Its your choice. I am praying for the eyes of you understanding might be opened ken Ken, you describe me as "kicking sand" and "ridiculing" others. You also describe me as being: "at the end of life you are fighting for recognition and praise that you never received elsewhere!"
You have never met me, you don't know me, yet, -you make a psychological diagnosis through the Internet as to my mental characteristics. Would you please tell me when & from what educational facility you got your degree in psychology?

Of course I have to admit, it would perhaps be more interesting watching sexual alliances rather than watching wars.
