I received a call from my cousin that my brother died today in Hospice. He was rather active on TMB for several years. His health issues were heart, prostate cancer, and kidney failure caused by heart failure.
I don't know when funeral will be as his son is in Texas and daughter in Missouri.

Hello BaPa, so sorry to hear of Loren's passing. Rough experience this getting old, and Loren's experiences were as rough as any. I can easily remember when our families visited when we were children, and I always looked forward to visits from y'all. Said before and express again, I don't know why I am still alive and such as Loren are gone now. He was also once my friend, and I tried to hold contact even through this parting illness he was forced to endure. Thank you for this notification, cousin, I miss you and will miss Loren in this life as well.
For any interested, my own rebuilt heart (almost 8 hours of surgical repair outside of my body, I was told) is functioning as well as I can expect, after being down to only 5% functioning and after repeated heart attacks. Wishing YOU wellness...greetings to you and yours.

Sad to hear about this.
In one of his last posts here on the TMB, one year ago, these were his words:
As always I am at peace with everything and am entirely willing to do whatever is the best for my situation and leave the rest to the Lord. I look at my life as having been and still being blessed by God in every way. While the past year and a half have been over a bumpy road that I would not have taken, given a choice, it has brought me where I am today experiencing the love and kindness of many friends, many professing and some not, as well as workers who have written and dropped in to visit.
I am truly unworthy of such loving attention, but it is being given on a continuing basis. Two elders from another part of the state came to visit me on a recent Saturday afternoon and told me I was an inspiration to them. I don't understand how this would be possible, but I am beginning to understand a little about the love of God expressed through His people. It's a wonderful experience. Too good to miss!
And just think, had I been able to choose the road my life might have taken it is certain I would have missed this outpouring of God's love. Now the question I need to explore is, what would the Lord be pleased for me to do with the additional borrowed time that has been given to me?
I enjoyed several PM's with Loren, and we joined the TMB within just a few months of each other. A nice man, who will be missed by many.

I was thinking of Loren just toight as I surfed through some FB pages. I'm sorry to hear he is gone, but don't wish him back with all the suffering he did at the end. He was a good stabilizing influence here on TMB. I have missed him.

Good folks, Loren and Kim. Spent quite a bit of time in their home back in the day and always enjoyed Loren's insights on things. He'll be missed for sure.

I also heard from my Vietnamese friend that Loren passed away. I still remember an American brother very lovely and handsome, when I was teenage. He came to my parents home sometimes for fellowship, married with a lovely Vietnamese sister, soft and tender heart. My parents met Loren's family in 2006, at the Viet Nam veteran union of Americam soldiers. Sorry to hear this sad new... Thinking of your family.

Loren was a friend, brother and comrade in uniform. I'll miss him greatly.

My condolences for your loss, and so glad to know his service wishes were honored. A celebration of life, instead of a "gospel meeting" service.
