E. Well to start with Tom, if you are a male how would you know !!! And secondly if a lady was to go to a Sunday morning meeting with her hair down do you really think nothing would be said !!! I dont know where u live but people often come to our sunday am meeting (and many others )with their hairdown and nobody even blinks. And I actually do listen to whats been said even if it doesnt effect me.

Tradition maybe ... Its the sure way to tell a "friendly" here in Australia. Have any of you men every asked a women how they feel about wearing their hair up ? Sure there a the ones that think it will save them and the ones that do it because its expected.

Sure there a the ones that think it will save them and the ones that do it because its expected. Reminds me..... My (very staunch 2x2) aunty had to get her hair cut short as she no longer had the ability to put it up (in that fake roll/bun of hair thingy that went on the inside of the scrap of hair that was left to wrap around the outside of it) Anyway, I jokingly said to her 'so when did you get all rebellious and cut your hair?' she replied sternly with 'oh don't you use that word with me. I was not being rebellious I had to get it cut and I cried the whole time. It was just awful' So I said 'I hope they didn't cut off your sense of humor with that hair. It is only hair you know, it won't determine if you go to heaven or hell!' With regards to what you've said isobelrose, when I was about 18 (20 yrs ago) I was living at home and headed off to the meeting with my parents. I had my lovely long (give me a headache in a ponytail) hair out and my dad said to me 'I don't ever want to see you wearing your hair out to the meeting'. I never questioned it, dad said. And, I never wore my hair out to meeting again.

Sorry magpie... If you've not been on TMB for a long time, you'll soon realise that threads go off topic pretty quickly.... It's annoying, and I've just added to the annoyance on this one with my last post.... PS I think some people have been very harsh about you typing in capitals due to your sight problems. Personally I don't mind. Thanks for your input on here. I hope today's a good day for you

Why was it a TRADITION FOR REASON?
How does GERMAINE GREER have an answer? Do you agree with her?

Information from the above sites:www.gotquestions.org/giving-to-the-poor.html www.gotquestions.org/giving-to-the-poor.html This is part of "gotquestions" mission statement:
"Mission Statement of Got Questions Ministries:.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................
We are Christian, Protestant, conservative, evangelical, fundamental, and non-denominational. We view ourselves as a para-church ministry, coming alongside the church to help people find answers to their spiritually related questions.
.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................
All of our answers are reviewed for biblical and theological accuracy by our staff, with final approval given by our President and Founder, S. Michael Houdmann.
And then here is a partial post by someone else who doesn't think very highly of Michael Houdmann!
Got Questions Gets Our Skull and Crossbones Award by Dan Corner "S. Michael Houdmann, the answer man behind Got Questions, teaches a license for immorality. S. Michael Houdmann of Got Questions teaches a license for immorality While it might be true that S. Michael Houdmann has supplied thousands of answers to diverse questions, that doesn’t mean his answers are always Biblically sound or spiritually wholesome, especially when related to various salvation issues. I assure you, from the perspective of the Bible, they are not. (Many cults, including the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Church of Christ, etc. can answer questions too, but often supplies a wrong answer too!)
In brief, Got Questions is a very influential and answer-giving once saved always saved group, which has undoubtedly misinformed thousands of precious souls seeking God’s truth. Got Questions misleading answers regarding salvation issues are spiritual poison sprinkled throughout its ministry." "
And so it goes!
Is there any wonder that there are thousands of Christian denominations in the world today?

I know a number of woman in NZ who have worn their hair down for years. Some have it cut to about shoulder length or above. I have never heard anything said about it to them. And I would agree that it is no big deal and is most likely a middle eastern tradition. Just like not eating pork pie.

Typical,no wonder Ex Worker said they are masters of deceipt . The address gave a sheet about"What does the Bible say about giving to the Poor",and there is many verses listed to answer that question? So what is a diversion of mentioning S Michael Houdmann got to do with a list of scripture verses pertaining to caring for less fortunate people.Fr Bob and Mthr Teresas instruction manual-are in "Those verses". David was a naughty adultress, terrible actually,so because of that you dont read his Psalms. Also a discussion on womans hair and today!!!!!does that help the homeless poor? No? Thanks faune,x-references and collated scripture makes so many subjects so much easier to study.

That's one of my favorite sites!
Faune, I know neither one of these men; -the president of "got-questions," Michael Houdmann or the other one that disagrees with him, Dan Corner.
My point was that these two, although both apparently are Christians, disagree on what is true & correct and right way to be a Christian.
Each Christian church disagrees with one another.
Is it any wonder that there are thousands of Christian churches in the world today? "Mission Statement of Got Questions Ministries:..................................................................................................................................................................................................................... "We are Christian, Protestant, conservative, evangelical, fundamental, and non-denominational. "All of our answers are reviewed for biblical and theological accuracy by our staff, with final approval given by our President and Founder, S. Michael Houdmann." Then here is what Dan Corner thinks about "Got Questions Ministries:" "S. Got Questions misleading answers regarding salvation issues are spiritual poison sprinkled throughout its ministry."
When I left the **TRUTH** I was trying to decide what was really true & what was I to do with the rest of my life.
I looked into all the of Christian religions. I saw nothing but a lot of dessention between them & even within each one.
More importantly, I ask myself was there anything about Christianity that was real and necessary for our lives? -or for that matter, any other religion? - and why did we think that we needed religion anyway? That is when I decided it was all smoke & mirrors, actually a hoax that we perpetuated on ourselves!
That is when I said I don't need any religion in my life.

Of course women who are not in "the fellowship" wear their hair in a bun as it is the trend at the moment. What I meant was this .... If it hasn't been preached for years that women in "the Fellowship" have to wear their hair in a bun, why do they keep doing it ? Tradition maybe !!! How come the women workers still wear their hair up in a bun .... have a look at the latest NSW workers photo ..... how many have their hair down

Millions of christians all over the world use the following as their instruction manual to fulfill their callings from God and Jesus commands regardless to their non-or denominational backgrounds. (nothing about length of hair, what a sick 2x2 diversion that is)Poor seem to be high on Jesus list of His love? A few inches of hair,a neice was told that as soon as she turns 16 she must have it up,2004? www.friendships.org/Scriptures.html. www.friendships.org/Scriptures.html

HI JCCS1,THAT "FRIENDSHIP" WEB HAS SHUT THEM UP? WHY? DONT WANT TO HAVE TO GET THEIR HANDS DIRTY? OR ARE SITTING NOW STUDYING EVERY COMMANd OF N?T RE HELPING THE NEEDY? Magpie, I am glad to hear there some people like you that are concerned with helping people who are in need of food, shelter & clothes.
I give to the food bank, and clothes to places where they can be put to use, and to abuse shelters, - but I don't actually work in those places.
I do admire people who do so. It isn't because I'm afraid of getting my hands dirty, -I just don't seem to have the stamina anymore.
