Rom_12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor(hate) that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. the SPLC keeps redefining what is hate to suit thier needs...they are as left wing as it gets... You mean that the SPLC has to keep fighting new hate groups that continue to develop like weeds.
I rather suspect that you never even heard of them until I mentioned them

BTW, Morris Dees (one of the first founders of the SPLC) would approve of Rom_12:9 verse. He is a Christian. I've heard him speak.

In 2010, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) classified the FRC as an anti-gay hate group, a designation which generated controversy. In 2012, a security guard working at the FRC headquarters was shot by a man who saw the organization listed on the SPLC's web site."
So I guess we can now say thatSPLC, a secular humanitarian group, provokes individuals to kill someone whose values are different? (re: the thread on morality disease)

Its important to understand the difference....again, you cant have it both ways....i.e. heinous acts by individuals within our church......I don't think you want others saying we promote that do you?

To blame the (SPLC) for provoking someone "to kill someone whose values are different" is the ultimate of attempting blame!

Jondough asked if I wanted "people" to say that that our fellowship promotes heinous acts because some of us have done them. That was my reply. People do say that the f&w church promotes such. The info from wiki that you posted about FRC stated that this list was included in the purpose of the organization.

I don't think emy is actually claiming that, she is just making a point in relation to the accusations that Wally is inciting death and hatred by calling HIV a "morality disease". We have one participant on that other thread claiming "Bible Believers are often the very ones that do the killing" but unable to see how a claim that believing in the bible often makes people into a killer is prejudicial hate speech. These conversations are quite revealing sometimes!

They aren't half the man wise King Solomon was, apparently. The truth is, men are biologically programmed for 100-500 partners in their lifetimes for survival of the species. The development of a social order actually opposes the biological default setting. So neither Solomon or whomever Wally is talking about should be a surprise to anyone.

As an aside, some might justify the number of wives such as Solomon had (what, 300 concubines, 600 wives?) because Solomon "is in the bible." But Solomon was a fallen man in the end, and a big part of the reason for his fall were the wives. Leviticus or Deuteronomy state that a "good king" shouldn't have many wives.

Yes, and as part of his punishment, he was allowed to continue his reign over the house of Israel, but his heirs were allowed to retain their dominion over 'only' two of the twelve tribes.
And in spite of his immorality, he still got published in the Holy Bible!
Not that getting published in the Holy Bible is necessarily a sign of one's salvation.
Ed Cooney, after all, is published in Hymns Old & New, and everyone knows he's going to hell in a hand-basket.

Are you really blaming King Solomon's 'fall' on his wives? Like Eve is blamed for the entire 'fall' of mankind by Adam and all the patriarchal leaders have done too? Isn't this mindset actually an insult to all men? They/you are actually saying men are not capable of thinking for themselves and that a woman can corrupt them against their will.

Yes, on his wives. Says so in the bible.
nb I do believe the bible is sexist. Seems that the devil is male. Sinners are mostly men. Mary is virtuous, Joseph is forgotten. God men get it in the neck, Godly women grow in grace.
I WANT AN INCLUSIVE BIBLE WHERE THE DEVIL IS A SHE.

Well of course, snow! His wives were to blame!
Imagine, trying to "care for" 900 women.
It would take three (3) years to sleep with a different one each night!
Poor old Solomom would be wore out!
Then he would probably have to deal with jealously amongst them if he wasn't fair!

Do we know for sure that the Devil is a guy? Sinners are mostly men? Don't really agree with that one, but hey I guess that's how you see it, so it is that way for you. I was once called the spawn of the devil, so wouldn't that make me a little she-devil? Is that good enough?

Snow, if you are a spawn of the devil, then I would be happy to say that "a friend of the devil is a friend of mine"! "Friend Of The Devil" I lit out from Reno, I was trailed by twenty hounds Didn't get to sleep last night 'till the morning came around. Set out runnin' but I take my time A friend of the devil is a friend of mine If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight. Ran into the devil, babe, he loaned me twenty bills I spent the night in Utah in a cave up in the hills. Set out runnin' but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine, If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight. I ran down to the levee but the devil caught me there He took my twenty dollar bill and vanished in the air. Set out runnin' but I take my time A friend of the devil is a friend of mine If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight. Got two reasons why I cry away each lonely night, The first one's named Sweet Anne Marie, and she's my hearts delight. The second one is prison, babe, the sheriff's on my trail, And if he catches up with me, I'll spend my life in jail. Got a wife in Chino, babe, and one in Cherokee The first one says she's got my child, but it don't look like me. Set out runnin' but I take my time, A friend of the devil is a friend of mine, If I get home before daylight, I just might get some sleep tonight. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XacvydVrhuI
