The encouraging thing is that all we have to do is outlive them!

An association between biological changes on the cellular level and both childhood adversity and psychiatric disorders has been identified by researchers. These changes in the form of telomere shortening and alterations of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), are important in the aging process. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/01/150120142817.htm

These changes in the form of telomere shortening and alterations of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), are important in the aging process. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/01/150120142817.htmThat is interesting. I am trying to figure out what is causing my apathy and depression that has definitely gotten worse over the last year. I am improving slowly, but in the fall of last year I was definitely thinking an awful lot about suicide. I could never do that, but wanted to badly, so felt very trapped that I had to stay alive because of having family. I posted about depression and inflammation and I know that chronic pain also contributes to depression. I have all that, but I also have a fair amount of trauma from my childhood and even into my adulthood. I recently read 'Playing with Fire' by Theo Fleury and it triggered a lot of things for me from my childhood. I am now reading his book that he wrote with his therapist Kim Barthel called 'Conversations with a Rattlesnake'. It is very good and I am learning a lot about childhood abuse, abandonment etc. but it's also triggering stuff for me I thought I had dealt with a long time ago. Guess not! The science of all this is very interesting to me. So thank you for adding another piece to the puzzle of just how things from childhood can and do have long term implications that show up in ways people would never think possible.

I wonder how Alice feels being the poorest Walton on the list?

I wonder how Alice feels being the poorest Walton on the list? She is tied with S. Robson Walton so she might be ok with that. However, 34 billion isn't just loose change!

I've always like Jim Carrey and thought this was an interesting graduation speech. Choose love or fear? Choose love!

There have been 129,864,880 different books printed, in all of modern history, & none about the 2x2, before 1880?

NYC mayor: Snowstorm could be worst ever! Winter Storm Juno: Blizzard Warnings for New York City, Boston, Parts of 7 States; Potentially Historic Northeast Snowstorm Ahead Listening to the news outlets one would think that there will be about 40-50 feet of snow with hurricane force winds and an occasional fireball falling from the sky! I have wondered about the phrase "Potentially Historic Northeast Snowstorm". Once the storm has come and gone it will be historic. Could it be that there is the possibility that the storm will be in some alternate universe so will not be in the history of our universe? I hope coverage is not going to interfere with the broadcast of my daytime soap operas. My stories are very important to me and millions of others! I mean what about the new complications in Melanie and Brady's love life? What was being said on the other end of Clint's phone call that Melanie overheard? Will Theresa be able to hold it together after learning about Brady and Melanie? So many questions. So little time to follow the 'plot' lines!

Of people, I would never have believed you to be a follower of those insipid silly daytime soap operas!
I only follow, ( just get out of in front of the TV unless you don't mind being run over) Downton Abbey, a entirely intellectual, refined saga.

It is the only one I have watched in years. I watch it on Netflix on my computer because I don't have cable TV but I love that series. Did you see the spoof on it?

I expect Corporate personhood will accelerate it. We also may just be more aware, or perhaps during that time we invented the tools to investigate the trend. This study would have been much more difficult to do before computers, and the information age.
