What we need are a few humanist jokes to poke fun at the humanist world we have created over the past century or so - but without looking I am sure they will be hard to find as they tread on sacred ground.

Ok, I had to Google for a joke. Apologies if it's already been posted!
--When my daughter was about three I took her to bed and asked what she would like to pray about. Promptly she answered: "onions." We prayed about onions and the next morning I asked why she wanted to pray about onions. "Because you said in your sermon that we should pray for things we don't like."--

I found one, bert but I don't know how to copy & past photos, cartoons & such. That is really not just an excuse, I have tried & I really don't know how. All I can copy are the words. What we need are a few humanist jokes to poke fun at the humanist world we have created over the past century or so - but without looking I am sure they will be hard to find as they tread on sacred ground. Well, it's not easy to laugh at that though. It'd be uncomfortable laughing at non-belief. We just feel sadness and/or hope. Oops! Don't mean to derail the thread! If I could think of a joke I'd post it. Carry on! Why would it be "uncomfortable laughing at a non-belief," perhaps such as a non-belief in a 'pot of gold' at the end of the rainbow? Would you find it sad that someone didn't believe that? Would you hope that they might come to believe that it was true?
Of course Bert's post was about "humanists." Are you aware of what it means to be a "humanist?"

We need a cartoon of someone sitting on a mountain of 150 million skulls from 20th Century secular wars, pogroms, genocides, final solutions and Communism. This person is asking someone, "We condemn religion for their religious wars, so do we condemn modern secularism for all of this?"
