My apology, Culter...you were referring to others who think every denomination is a cult. Sorry, man.

Christians cults typically ADD to the word of God, SUBTRACT from the person and work of Jesus Christ, MULTIPLY the conditions for salvation and DIVIDE among themselves and other believers.
I think the 2x2s fit this perfectly.
Many other denominations/sects/cults do likewise.

I wonder if there is any denomination that cannot be described as a cult. I cannot think of ONE.

ttt - good one. Lets give an example of the classic church, Roman Catholicism.
ADD - just about everything in it, including the priesthood, monasteries, nuns in habits, popes, purgatory .... SUBTRACT - everything and anything which smacked of the simplicity of Christ. MULTIPLY - take the simple provision given to visiting preachers and end up owning half the earth. And, take the simple commandments of Christ, and churn out volumes of legalisms. DIVIDE - well, you need to explain your own statement first, it doesn't make sense.
ttt, tell us what shining example of a pure scriptural based church you belong to.

Dear Sir/Madam "ttt is a hypocrit", you completely missed the point. The quote wasn't mine I found it years ago on the internet and it very succinctly explains what "Christian" based cults do, all of them, including the Catholic church.
I don't belong (as in physical attendance) to a pure scriptural based denomination, they don't exist. I was born into the body of Christ a number of years ago. It's members are still sinners so purity isn't possible yet, but will be one day.

Just so everyone knows, I (Cherie Kropp) am not the author of the "ttt" posts on this thread and I do not discuss the cult issue.
