I don't agree with you, sacerdotal, on mother Teresa's hypocrisy. I don't know about monetary details, but I've read too many books by people who served next to her and told what she was really like from their personal experience ... rather than from an atheist looking to discredit religion by smearing one of its most saintly figureheads. Perhaps it would be worth looking around: liberalslikechrist.org/Catholic/MotherTeresa.htmlmukto-mona.net/Articles/mother_teresa/sanal_ed.htmAnd the contents of some of her writings might place her on the side with atheists. Sometimes there is more to a story than people want to acknowledge.

Yes, Rat I do wonder what they believe in. I guess I don't. Their beliefs are their beliefs. As long as they do not try to impose them on me they are welcome to them. Some people are compassionate and some are not. Try to remember that the workers are just people doing a job. This is a universal problem. People who lost family members in the WTC on 9/11 all got public funds. A father who might have been killed by a drunk driver on the same day got nothing. Why should the family of the people killed in the WTC on 9/11 get special care? The same reason the workers do. Because people are willing to give it to them. Few are willing to stand up and ask the difficult questions - why should the government pay? Why should the workers be treated special? No one said life is fair.

I know very little about M Teresa or C Hitchens, (have not watched either video)so probably should shut up, but sure not unusual for someone trying to do good, to be called a "hell's angel". alvin
News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. 23All the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?" 24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out or demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons."
