I know Ira Hobbs. He must be pretty old by now. If you could keep him away from women and children that would be appreciated.

According to Dale Gardner "it is known by many that Ira has raped and had sex with sister workers and wives for the past 60 years, as well as documented horrible molestation of children." wingsfortruth.info/2023/10/21/call-for-assistance-re-ira-hobbs/It's time the church had some assurance from the overseers that this man is banned from meetings for the rest of his life.

Wow! Three on the last list stayed with us. I could have never imagined back then that such things could be going on. Perhaps by leaving the 2x2 when we did, we escaped a great tragedy.

Age does not seem to stop these cretins. We had a case in our country of an 85 year old being convicted of date rape. It is in the public domain, and Sir James Wallace (although the Sir has now been taken away after the conviction) was up to no good in his old age. He tried to use his wealth to pay people to not press charges.

I had two additional thoughts after reading that letter. 1. How does a homeless worker now afford a house? 2. If this was known for 60 years, why wasn't he in jail 59 years ago?

Ira was Overseer of Texas until 2008 when he was expelled from the work for CSA; he married widow Joan (Wilson) Stephens on Dec. 2, 2019 (Ira DOB 1933) Ruth died in the work (1922-2017). The following from AFT seems appropriate...
“A faith community that has no formal structure, no serious accountability mechanisms, and little interest in vetting leaders that it sends into homes across the country, is a community that will undoubtedly attract those who want to easily access and hurt children. Tragically, that is exactly what has been reportedly happening for decades in Truth communities throughout the world.” — Boz Tchividjian, BozLaw P.A.

He should have been, and this is at the centre of the issues we have seen come to light A couple of things would have helped him evade accountability... The doctrine that workers are to be obeyed even when they are wrong and mere mortals are not to "lift their hand against the Lord's annointed". The doctrine that "the girls get over it and we need workers so bad" meant that criminal workers were moved to another state or country when they were found out. That's what Dale Gardner was up against 35 years ago: ex2x2.info/2020/11/06/gardner-dale/

George Peterson is now the new overseer where Ira Hobbs lives. It is no wonder that Ira is free to take part in meeting based on the doctrine that George promotes. George says that "the mind is like a computer. When you make a mistake, you then hit the 'delete' button and all is forgotten." That is George's take on what it is like to ask forgiveness from God. That is a very convenient doctrine that George somehow feels the need to promote in order to not take responsibility for his mistakes. I have said it before and will say it again. The overseer doctrine about "forgiveness" suits the protection of the predators and further victimizes the weak and vulnerable. Wait til you get a divorce and try to give you're testimony or partake of the wine.... No delete on this.
