As a result of some information that I have recently received (which shall remain strictly confidential), I have decided to make myself and my home available to any worker who feels they need to take time out from the work, or just a break, and/or if they just need someone to talk to who is genuine, trustworthy and is also understanding, concerned and compassionate.
This offer could extend to any worker outwith Scotland and even to any friend. I have no intention or desire to try and persuade any worker or friend to leave the work or fellowship, but merely offer myself and home as a support service.
I can be contacted in the first instance through the pm service on this board. However, any Scottish worker should have no problem in obtaining my contact details. Those who know me will know they can have complete confidence and trust in myself.

Thanks Scott. The Bible tells us to share one another's burdens. A problem shared is a problem halved. We do not have to be experts to be able to give "expert" help. There are many bearing heavy yokes that God did not intend, which have been placed there by man. The essential thing is working together for Christ. Sustaining each other is not only essential, it brings rich blessings all round. I just hope and pray that those who are in need of help find the courage to seek it. The first step is always the hard one by far. In fact it is often a giant leap which requires a lot of faith. In all things people should look to God. This can often mean putting other considerations such as peers and a system to one side.

Often it isn't what we can do to help someone that matters the most, but just being a support in a time of need is what matters in easing a burden. Sometimes being able to point them to someone who IS an expert can be a real help also. I know that I have been personally enriched and blessed by helping others in their time of need. It also is a good way to make new friends!! Scott

That's right. Just being there for someone can go a long way.

I remember being in the work and having a really hard time feeling any life or energy. I was convinced that the work was my calling. One of the friends told me that I had every indication of depression and that she and her (unprofessing) husband would send me to a psychiatrist. In the evaluation the lady said that I probably needed a change of job. That was the indication of the tests. I considered that the voice of the devil trying to get me to abandon God's work. I was prepared to die in the work.
That is the short story. It took several more months before I was able to finally make that leap to leave the work. The workers leaving the work need more financial help than the ones staying but they are basically cut off. I really applaud your efforts, ram. The work should be a place of refuge and safety, but it is the furtherest thing from it. There is not place for emotional and spiritual growth in the work. They have separated the physical, emotional and spiritual in their preaching.
You are giving valuable and needed support to souls. There is more help for souls in what you are doing than any number of gospel meetings.

Thanks ts. Your experience and views are invaluable. I see this as nothing more than seeking to love my neighbour as myself. Again I hope that even one needy worker (or friend) will avail themselves to my offer. From what I am hearing there is a great need for it. Some other exes should consider if they are able to put themselves at the disposal of those in need.

As those outside the meetings say 'it is wonderful to have a pastor's pastor! We all need a shoulder to lean on or a dear friend that will listen without being judgemental. Ram I applaud your gnerosity and kindness.May God bless you abundantly

Hi Irvine. Many thanks. So far I have only had one tentative enquiry and that was in the early days following my OP. However it was made through a third party but so far there has been no further progress. I get the feeling there is so much fear and apprehension about pursuing such options. Stepping outside of the insular environment even in time of great need is not only daunting but also virtually "forbidden" in the mind.
