Just saw a cult video about new age movement says Meditation is no good..this is why they promote yoga so you'll meditate and drift away from God A lady who taught yoga a long time saw that when she meditated to empty her mind it was a worse feeling but when she quite meditation and just let go she saw where she never lost anything but rather she gained and was way better off

Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Yoga is great for the body and mind--builds strength, flexibility, gets your blood flowing, and is ultimately very relaxing...in fact, after an hour of moving and stretching your body in the various positions, your muscles really don't have a choice. If you don't want to meditate, don't meditate.

Do you want to know what a yoga teacher did after teaching yoga to kids when they were all calm and still and relaxed she started reading about Budda..now you can understand better were things can lead Like I said before I ain't interested in Yoga

But if the parents were anti-Buddhist and didn't know that learning about Buddha was going to be part of the class, then...caveat emptor.

Then why bring it up?!
Meditation is wonderful. One can use any word as a mantra to help keep one centered.
If you are afraid of the boogey-man getting into your mind & corrupting it, then use the word 'Jesus' to protect yourself. After all, didn't he promise to never leave nor forsake you?
Yoga is a gentle way of maintaining good health both physically & mentally.

I suppose that fasting alone in the desert coulb be considered a form of meditation. I mean you go out there and have nothing to do but think and talk to god. Let god fill your mind.

............. OHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMA nice long, resonant Om is a beautiful and settling help in connecting with God. Try it before you disparage and ridicule. You may need a little instruction first.....but perhaps not. God is always with you, within you.

If you take the bible LITERALLY, as you must b/c of your post, then you don't drive an automobile, don't talk on phone, don't eat fast food, don't use modern appliances/equiment in any manner (and the list goes on and on)..... all b/c Jesus did none of these things.
Get a life!

I found good long OOmmmmmmmmmmmmm will absolutely drive some people crazy. Use it on my wicked days. An Om is for when you are alone or in the company of like-minded and receptive people.

There are things in the Bible we don't take literally; of course not. But there are so many rich illustrations of life lessons in the Bible that many in this world have disregarded..........simply because we shouldn't take it literally. There ARE many things in the Bible we do need to take a literal heed to. Jesus meditated. He also spoke in parables. He was smart enough to realize that people would try to take everything He said literally, or twist His words, so He spoke in parables. It's in the Bible.
