I heard yesterday that RM, convicted 2006 and died 2007 was setup by five kids. Supposedly they made some pact at the time. I am just wondering if any others have heard this and if it be true should all matters online about it be removed?

However if you can provide links to news stories and reports from law enforcement agencies concerning this information it would be good to post here. Scott

Scott I know a girl that will definitely take exception to the rumors that Ruben was merely set up, she had personal experiences with him, and I believe her... that said, I sure wouldn't trust law enforcement to provide the answers either... I know a little about cops, I could fill these pages with the lies, videos, and set ups, and other horrible things that the police do... don't tempt me!

Please don't misunderstand. Reporting these abuses to the "authorities" is the best thing to do..
I was just saying that I would have a better chance of believing the people making that phone call than the people answering that phone call, lol...
I've seen too much to think that the police are somehow automatically right about everything that comes out in their reports..

Whats really surprises me is that nobody could see that the man was not your typical worker. He was in our area for years when I was between the age of 6 and 11, and I knew there was something weird about him... of course at the time I didn't know what a child molester was, but I remember very clearly.. he was just mushy and feminine, and I really didn't like listening to him, or shaking his hand...
But I was only a kid.. Why couldn't the adults see what I could see? That may be the reason I post on this thread, because I knew him, he wasn't like the other workers... he was nice to me, just too soft and strange... his handshake was softer than mine, and I was only 8 years old or something like that... I remember very clearly shaking his hand at the end of Friday Night gospel meetings in El Segundo, CA...
While I loved having the workers over, like Sydney Holt, Eldon Tenniswood, and Harold Hilton, or the sisters Marilyn Wheeler and Kathy Paddon, I would not have been thrilled in the same way to see Ruben...
He was different... that's for sure... anyway, for all I know he just had problems and could have well had a relationship with God, but I imagine that it was strained at best.. God sees things we don't though, and I don't condemn him or anything, just pointing out that I could see that he was different..

I am married to a man who is a road patrol deputy and he is a very honest and upright man. He sincerely cares about the safety and well-being of others. I know as well that politics in any organization can be terrible (my husband feels this way as well). I may be off track but based on your comments I assume that you've had personal experience with law enforcement ...otherwise why would you make those comments? I'm sorry if your experience was bad. I've had terrible experience when calling to get support for my computer. But I don't want to claim that every software support person is an idiot. There are good cops and bad cops. There are good and bad in EVERY organization and religion. Didn't mean to deviate from the topic - sorry. You are married to a policeman and you say that I am basing my opinion on personal experience? Interesting.. ;D And no, I just get a lot of news. The last experience I had with a cop was the one that visited my Shell Station every night, we gave him free food and drinks... he was really cool, we'd talk for hours, he even watched Ron Paul videos that I suggested and really liked him... I try to avoid personal experiences with them just because of the last time I called them (back in the early 90s). My neighbor's house had been broken into so I called the cops, and they showed up, the policeman told me, his exact words "Well, that guy is gone now, what can we arrest you for?" I just don't like the way that they swear oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution... I never have cared much for liars. Someday someone will defend that document, but I doubt that it will be a cop.

sherbear, Do you really want to get into a discussion about cops, how they lie for each other, break into people's homes without warrants and shoot innocent people, harass people, beat people, frame people after they realize they made a mistake? And this is on a daily basis... I am really not up for it. I know how cops are.. I live and breathe in this world.. I was just wondering why nobody noticed that Ruben was a little strange when I could see it when I was in grade school...

sherbear, Speaking of cops and their oath of defending the Constitution, I was at Walgreens getting a prescription filled a few months back, and there were two police officers outside standing and talking to each other... Out of curiosity, I went up (took some nerve) and asked them if either of them knew what the 6th Amendment to the Constitution was? Neither of them knew. Maybe your husband knows, you might go ask him.

I am not saying all cops are bad... but way too many are... They don't defend the Constitution like they swear to. I would like to see any patrol cop take a polygraph test and be asked the question, "Have you ever violated someone's 4th Amendment rights?" My car has been searched so many times in my day, and I have yet to be arrested at any of the times... They came into my house before when I said they couldn't, just because they thought someone else that I didn't even know was in my house, but that only happened once. I was not arrested then either, and I don't have the time or energy to "push" the issue by filing lawsuits.. One time I was walking to visit my brother and 4 cop cars swooped up on me, and they put guns to my head, slammed me on the ground.. turned out they were looking for "someone else".. So yeah, I try and avoid them if I can. ;D Give me a good experience with them and I will be glad to tell you about it...

I really don't hang out with anybody, much less criminals, so having a good experience with policemen is unlikely for me... I am sure that many try their best.. My cousin Cassie is a cop, and her husband Gerry also.. She arrested the Worcester guy in San Diego that killed the little Danielle girl, and interviewed him.. it was on the news.. Always liked Cassie Her husband gave my other cousin gifts one year at Christmas that he said he had taken from a "bust", never much cared for that... They always brought doughnuts at Christmas!

I liked him, I suppose I trusted him to a point.. One night our store had a beer run, and I was able to get the license plate number of the truck.. It was him that showed up (I had to call them as a store rule)... He traced the truck, and he knew who they were, but he didn't try and go get them at the time, said they would do it later... After closing that night, I got a call from the owner to come back to the store.. The thieves had come back, broke the front window out with a huge rock, and stolen much more stuff.. I was all ready to testify against them, but my cop friend talked me out of it, saying it would be a waste of time and just make things more unsafe for the store, and me... I don't what ever happened with that... I didn't work there much longer, it was after that that I got my job at Calendar Club.. That was almost 6 years ago, I am still at Calendar Club...

Score one for the police in my life experiences...

I broke the news to my family about my brother dying, so been there done that (without getting paid, either)...
Why would you even use that line?
Fine, cops are wonderful... lol That's why everyone loves them so much... They just need more power, and more guns.. ;D

Obviously the bad cops by far outnumber the good ones or there would be no place for corruption to continue to grow to such large proportions within almost every city...
They should work on that for a while and stop hog-tying kids, and pepper-spraying them and abusing them, sometimes even killing them in the process...

I guess because I just saw on the news about the cop that tasered, pepper-sprayed, and hog-tied a boy for having a speech impediment because they thought he was disrespecting him..
Well I guess we had better show that man some respect... Then they want medals (and a freshly charged taser) for doing something nice...

And it is not so much that he got angry at a kid that couldn't speak, and tasered him, pepper sprayed him, but that he won't even get in trouble for it...
Anyone else would go to prison for doing that to a kid...

You are 8 times more likely to be killed by a cop than by a terrorist (from an NBC study)...
Should we have a "War on Cops"? ;D

Scott, I ask that in objectivity, because I knew Ruben Mata, he was not you average worker... very feminine, VERY soft handshake, creeped me out kinda even as a kid, and you know Shel, she knew him too and she did not like him at all, she won't even go into it but something happened that creeped her out with Ruben...
So really my question is not so much about this or any case, but more general, a basic "How could the cops or press know if someone got away with something?) ok? and I wish you wouldn't have been caught by the other *** It didn't occur to me that you would even see it.. I'm slow...
