Has anyone read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance?
I've read it, twice - the first time, for the story - which is a good one, the second time, more of the philosophy and understanding the mental health issues raised in the book.
To me, it was profound and life-changing. The exploration of Quality is extraordinary.
Highly recommended

I had this book on my list of modern classics for some years now but only recently finished it. I think I will have to read it a second time, much more slowly, to absorb and begin to understand some of the philosophy.
The narrative was fun though, I enjoyed using a highlighter to mark all the towns I had been to on my own travels.
As you say the exploration of "Quality" was fascinating. I recall the question coming up in a classroom setting and realizing how poor a definition we really have if the concept. Wish I had read the book prior to that class.
