Along with hope, I would like more contributions in this section. Past and present members of the 2x2 church should have much to contribute. It's good to "publish God's deeds". It's part of our worship of awesome God.
Lord, I lift Your name on high Lord, I love to sing Your praises I'm so glad You're in my life I'm so glad You came to save us
(Chorus) You came from heaven to earth To show the way From the earth to the cross My debt to pay From the cross to the grave From the grave to the sky Lord, I lift Your name on high
Repeat Verse
Repeat Chorus
Repeat Chorus
Lord, I lift Your name on high...

I love that song admin. You are right. We should exalt and worship him with our lips and hearts as often as possible. He is worthy of our praise, worthy to be praised and worthy of honor. He is our King, our Lord, our redeemer, saviour, friend, confidant, I love you Jesus. I love the fact you loved me before you knew me and formed me, all my days ordained for me were written in your heart. Thank you for loving me and saving me and restoring me back in relationship with the father. Thank you for the holy Spirit, for his leading and guiding into all truth and help in times of trouble. I bless your name and lift it high as a banner over TMB, you are the Alpha and the Omega, everlasting to everlasting, thank you that we can hide under the shadow of your wings and know your protection. Blessed be the name of Jesus Christ.

I need not fear to trust Thee. Thy love and skill are such: New lessons Thou wilt teach me While yielding to Thy touch.
Mould me, O mould me To Thy will While in Thy hand I'm lying still.
Impress Thine image on me; Fulfil Thy blest design, Til others see upon me That beauteous face of Thine.

When you are up on the mountain things sure are good with God, I love this song too. I know the valley experiences in my life have been where my charactor is tested, tried, proven and forged and the winter season can be so painful but the mountain experiences with him take you through because when you look back you can see his faithfulness and even though you feel he isnt there he really was and never left you. I love you Lord www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUBhkm0EoWY&feature=related

You know, I wonder about something. I was telling my brother that I think, in the state where I currently am employed, that, over the past three years I have heard every hymn that is in the hymnbook, used by those in the truth, on the radio, in various church services. My brother thinks this is because some have sold the hymns from the meetings to other churches. I think this is really sad if this is true. Can anybody shed some light on the matter?

You mean the music or the words? Many of our hymns are not unique to our church. Others of our hymns have been written to familiar, even secular, music.

Hey shushy -- you can put these songs on here as YouTube videos -- just use the YouTube option on the message and copy/paste the URL from YouTube in between the {}
There are SO many great praise and worship songs out there! Just went to Hills Alive in Rapid City, South Dakota this summer. It was awesome to stand with such a diverse crowd, members of the body of Christ-- praising and worshipping God in song, prayer and testimony. I had heard the workers say at convention that convention was what heaven was like -- and I used to think "really? -- I hope not". Standing with other believers and singing "Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty - who was and is and is to come" like Revelations tells of -- it hit me, " NO -- THIS is what heaven will be like!! Continual praise and worship of our great King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega, our Defender, our Healer, Our Savior-- Lord God Almighty"
One of my current favorite songs says " My hope is in you Lord - all the day long, I won't be taken by drought or storm, The peace that passes understanding is my song, and I sing... My hope is in you Lord"
I love praising and worshipping Him! I used to speak about that in my testimonies in meeting-- that I felt I did not praise Him enough. But I really didn't know HOW to, because it wasn't something that we did in the 2x2 way.
I realize now that we can keep religion or anything from becoming an idol -- if we focus on how very, very great our God is. It is so helpful to read the Psalms -- to read Isaiah -- and Job. There's so much in those 3 books especially about how incomprehensibly all powerful and awesome God is.
A recent quote I heard said "Don't tell God how big your problems are -- tell your problems how BIG your God is". God's bigger than we can possibly comprehend. He's bigger than our struggles, bigger than our diseases, bigger than our flesh, bigger than the world, and, most definitely, bigger than the devil!
Here's a question for all of you hard core meeting folks (if you even bother to look at this thread) and the other church folk who only sit still in their seats and sing hymns at a low volume: Why do you ignore the admonitions given in Psalms? We are told to sing praise loudly, worship with stringed and other instruments and dance for God. Psalms talks about doing ALL of that -- and says over and over to SHOUT -- make a joyful NOISE.
"Yahweh, Yahweh, We love to SHOUT Your name, O God"
