Why is it "your " elder, if you have left? Or have you not left?
By the way. Its not true that only workers know who is speaking at conventions. In some places a list is put out months in advance, and widely circulated. You might have been missing out on this. Perhaps YOUR elder thought you'd left?

In some places a list is put out months in advance, and widely circulated. What areas? In my expereince I was told that speaking lists are published as late as possible to keep the wokrers' friends from finding out who speaks where and when. Seems some/many of the workers' friends like certain speakers. So, if they could go, say, 100 miles one weekend or another, they will choose the one which has their most favorite speaker(s).
